Section 4 - Objective

▪ Protect safety, health & welfare of employess at workplace.
▪ Protect others in the workplace.
▪ Promote a safe and healthy work environment that is

compatible with human psychology and physiology.

▪ Make safety and health a practical work culture and standard

that can be used in the management and operation system of
an organization.

Section 15(2) – General duties of employers

▪ Establish and maintain as far as practicable a safe workplace

and work system.

▪ Provide methods or ways that can guarantee safety and

health during the handling, use, storage and transportation of
materials.

▪ Provide information, instruction, training and supervision

▪ Establish and maintain safe access and egress from
workplace.

▪ Safety Induction program will be conducted by BWTMS

QHSE Department.

▪ Visitor need to report at security post and fill up the form as

required.

▪ Induction will valid for 1 year duration and need to go re-

induction after 1 year.

Toolbox Talk

▪ Informal safety meetings focus on safety topics related to a

particular job, such as workplace hazards and safe work
practices.

▪ Meetings are usually short-term and are usually conducted

before starting work.

Behaviour in Work Area

▪ Employees are reminded to comply with the rules & regulations. Any

violation may be subject to action by the management. Below are some
of rules & regulations:

▷ All employees are required to comply with laws & regulations.
▷ Work with safely.
▷ Do not indulge in horseplay while at work.
▷ Did not involve in substance misuse / abuse of drugs and alcohol.
▷ Always wear PPEs.
▷ Report all accident, incident, near miss, unsafe act & unsafe condition.
▷ Use the right tools and equipment and use them in the right way.
▷ Practice good housekeeping.

Prohibited Items

Smoking

▪ Smoking is allowed only in designated area.
▪ All employees are prohibited to smoke in the work area.
▪ Any violation regarding smoking may be subject to action by

related parties.

Safe Work

▪ Energy Isolation
▷ Energy isolation shall be performed by certified personnel

only.

▷ LOTO need to be displayed.

▪ Working at height
▷ Safety harness with double lanyard is mandatory to all

personnel working from 2 meters or more.

▷ Attachment to electrical conduit, small pipe or other

unsubstantial points shall be avoided for anchorage.

Safe Work

▪ Lifting Operation
▷ Ensure the area is barricaded before lifting operations begin

to prevent people from walking under the suspended load.

▷ All personnel should not stand, pass or working directly under

the suspended load.

Tool / Equipment Safety

▪ All tool and equipment should be checked before use.
▪ Some of tool and equipment need to do preventive

maintenance. Inspection will be perform by PIC department
and verified by QHSE personnel.

Reporting

▪ Incident / Accident Reporting
▷ All incident / accident shall be reported immediately to work

leader / supervisor / EIC and QHSE.

▷ Incident Incident Notification/Escalation Form (BWTMS-

QHSE-FM-514) shall be submitted to relevant parties
immediately.

▷ All incident shall be investigated and reported in accordance

with BWTMS procedure (BWTMS-QHSE-PR-510).
