The main roles of Google Classroom are to provide a Anne Bisbano

As we are all aware, consistency with Middle School
students is vitally important. This tool is not, however, Kayce Stackel

One of the main purposes served by Google Classroom is
to support the student planner where students record Brian Mull
assignments that need to be completed at home each Technology
evening. These postings include all practice and [email protected]
preparation, whether ?analog?or digital, in all classes. This
brings us to some of the confusion you may have as you Caroline Fleiner

[email protected]
When you look at an assignment, you may see that it is
marked either as completed or not completed. This stamp
is completely automated. It is not something triggered by a
teacher or student. It is triggered by a digital assignment
being submitted through Google Classroom. However, if
the assignment is a reading, something handwritten,
something printed, or something completed and turned in
any other way, Google Classroom will still show the item as
incomplete. Therefore, using that stamp is not a reliable
way to check and see if your child has completed all of
his/her work.

All of this is to say that if you are checking into Google
Classroom, do so only to gain an understanding of what
has been assigned? not what has been completed. We do
appreciate your help in reviewing assignments with your
child, but we firmly believe that the responsibility of keeping
track of assignments is one we need to develop in our
students. If individual teachers do see an issue that needs
to be discussed, please know that they will reach out to you
directly. We invite you to do the same.

Due to our current dismissal procedure, we will still offer
extra help after school, but it looks different than in years
past. Seventh and Eighth Grade students and teachers are
all in the gym where they can meet together as needed.

Please be sure to coordinate your pickup time with your
child should s/he need to receive extra help. This will help
to keep our carpool line flowing smoothly.
