i stand alone
thinking back to when the palmer method
taught me to write my name.

it was such a long time ago!

it was a fantasy world
where the kid next door,
mickey mouse,and my dog mac

were all that were required to make
my dreams come true.

happiness there was.

but that was a long time ago.

now my mind has advanced to the point
where i search for happiness

and i didn't think it was easy to find.
everywhere i turned,

the world was full of hypocrisy,
full of doubts,
and fears .

and frustrations.

man continually lined up against man.
people always searching
for that inaccessible longing,
the one that leans
and beckons
throughout our lives.

i could find no happiness,
for everywhere,
people looked and stared,
scowled and frowned.

i was part of a movement to
change america,

radicalize and free society
from oppressive chains.

or so they thought.

that what we all need now
to find happiness
is Love.

Love could turn the world
on a different course.

It demands nothing,
except that It be fulfilled
in itself

when Love beckons you
follow Him.

when He speaks to you
believe in Him.

everyone talks of Peace
believe me, children of america,

those who call auburn their home,
Love and Peace,

falling hand in hand,
are where it's at.

if you love someone,
you ought to tell them.

for Love is a better star to follow
than Russ Meyer ever introduced.

by the giving of your special gift,
having found the capacity to love,
your reason for being is defin ed.

and how glorious it would be to achieve Peace.
not just in southeast asia, but everywhere,
especially in men's minds.

take Love with you, add a little understanding,
and peace of mind will follow.
believe me!

here at auburn we are blessed
with a wide variety of people.

so different, yet sharing so much.

as travellers down life's highway,
we should entertain whatever kind
of wheels it takes to make our lives
careen on down the road.

and progressing.

in ideas and ideals,
