INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL

This year's version of the lnterfraternity Council reexamined its relevance
on the Auburn Campus . This examination carried into several areas. The
council decided that the requirement of a minimum grade point for initiation,
set by the delegates, should be deleted . Also , a more mature atmosphere
for rush was encouraged by the council having less vehement rush patrol
activities. This administration also tried to reduce the formality of the sessions
by having the meetings in a local night club.

The beginning of the year saw the fraternity system enjoying its greatest
rush ever as a 13.1% increase was seen in total men pledged . The council
also made an effort to serve and benefit not only the Greeks but the entire
student body by sponsoring the highly successful "Three Dog Night" concert
during Homecoming . In addition to this, several " Jam Sessions " were put
on in Graves Amphitheater to the enjoyment of not only the Greeks but the
independents as well.

The lnterfraternity Council continues to serve and assist the Greek organi-
zations on a changing campus.
