Levi & Logan were rescued at a young age, but may have been over looked as they have
FIV. Their sister was adopted when very young, and these two remained at the vets for a
period. They were kindly fostered for several months, and then came to us at the shelter.

Logan is a gorgy-boy, enjoys playing
with toys that you of course will dangle
and throw for his amusement. He likes to
take his toys back to his bed, where we
mostly find them. He is a lovely fluffy
ginger and white – showing the general
tendency of gingers to be very friendly.

Many people may fear FIV, due to misconceptions. www.fivcats.com advises cats with FIV do not have “a life-
threatening disease” from FIV itself & have an immune system which “just goes on working, not perfectly, but
perfectly adequately”. We focus on keeping these two happy and secure which helps maintain their immunity

• Feline FAVOURITES A sweet kitty called Esmerelda

by Oznur Mezgil

Hello Readers,

My name is Oznur and every month I
volunteer as a photographer at Doggie
Rescue. After I take the photographs I
often sit with the cats awhile. They are all
gorgeous but my favourite is Esmerelda.

“ ESMERELDA ”

Domestic Shorthair 2 years Black/White Female
Loves: Cuddles, playing and her kitty friends.
Experienced at: Purring. Slaying spiders.
Suit: A family who will appreciate her.

Esmerelda is one of the sweetest cats you could
ever meet. She is always so friendly, cuddly and
purrs as soon as she sees you. She loves playing
with toys and with her friends. She is also very
smart. Once I entered the cats enclosure there was
a dead spider. Esmeralda was keep touching it and
coming to me. It was so obvious that she killed it
and was so proud to show me. I can't wait to see
her finding her well deserved forever home.

Every cat is a gift

What gifts do cats bring to your life? Firstly, cats are great anti-depressants
and just cuddling your cat can release Oxytocin the feel good hormone which
has very positive effects on your mental health. What is better than the gift of
love? Whether it be loudly purring, rubbing against you or wanting to cuddle up
and just be with you, a cat takes your loneliness away. Don’t forget the gift of
laughter and fun! Cat’s love to play and enjoy life and it does not cost much
money to entertain them. Cats are independent!! No more early morning walks
and a cat is happy to entertain themselves while you are away at work.

There are just so many positives in adopting a cat, and the only thing better
than ONE cat is adopting TWO! Come and meet your purrfect match today!

TOO MANY UNWANTED KITTIES,
NOT ENOUGH HOMES By Corinne Daw

Every day in a western Sydney pound dumped cats and kittens arrive. Some are pregnant and many have
litters of kittens. It is not unusual at this pound for 30+ cats/kittens to arrive daily. This is just ONE pound.

For these abandoned animals their life depends on…

• BREED, AGE, COLOUR– CUTENESS

Purebred cats, unusual or pretty colouring/fluffiness
can help find popularity and a potential new family.

• PERSONALITY—ABILITY TO BE HANDLED/

FRIENDLINESS Unless a kitten/cat can be handled/
patted and cuddled their chances of adoption deteriorate.
This is especially so if they are fearful / shy /hide and are
not used to human contact. Mostly these are the kitties
who have been living rough and have been trapped.

• HEALTH—ANY ONGOING HEALTH PROBLEMS

like cat flu/ringworm/other health issue, especially if it’s
contagious, can result in death unless a rescue group
steps in.

• THEIR ABILITY TO SHINE ON SOCIAL MEDIA/
