I can’t wait to show you how much I care,
I’ll even bring my teddy bear.
The outdoors is where I love to play

I love walks in the park and a tickle on my belly,

I’m timid, I’m gentle but a cute little boy.
I’m often described as a teddy-bear toy.
I love being cuddled. That’s very true.
If you like to pat and pet I’m the boy for you!
I’m sometimes a little lonely, and need a new life,
With love and loyalty, not hardship and strife.
My size is medium, my heart is large.
Please give me a try. I don’t bite or scratch.
This Valentine’s Day, please think of me.
No roses, no chocolates, just a bond: You and me.
Together we’ll be partners, love and romance.
And all that I ask is to give me a chance.
Sending you love on Valentine’s Day

The Love they leave
behind By Amanda and Jarrad Moore
This may sound corny but I truly believe I was put here on this earth to care
for senior dogs. There is something so special about a senior dog and I am
just so drawn to a toothless smile and an old gray face. We adopted our first
senior dog from Monika just over 5 years ago. His name was Max and we fell
madly in love, he was the love of my life. My big boof was always by my side.
He was sweet and goofy and happy. He was gentle and patient and welcomed
so many seniors into his home in the following years, happily sharing his
Mum and his home with all his siblings. Max was the love of my life
After adopting Max, we very quickly added Marty and
Harry to our family and when someone suggested I adopt
a 4th dog I thought they were crazy! 4 dogs!!?? At this
point I still had no idea the journey I was about to take and
that my home would truly become a senior dogs home; a
place where senior dogs could call home and live out their
remaining days loved and as part of a family. But our family
kept growing and we have now been blessed with 19 senior
dogs, 16 of them coming from Monika's.
Nothing gives me more joy than welcoming a new senior into
our home and watching them settle in and realise they are
loved and this is their forever home. We usually have about 7
senior dogs at a time, I love having a big family of seniors to
care for. But after a tough year sadly we are left with 2
seniors; Goosey and Pippy. How blessed I am for every day
I share with these precious pups.
Senior dogs are extremely special and have so much life and
love to give. We have received something different from each
and every one of our seniors. My darlings Max and Bonnie
had so much energy and loved going out. Max was extremely
fit and loved going for long walks and the occasional run. My
cuddle pie Bonnie loved going out and would dance her

Marty, Kenny, Daphne, Pippy and Teddy were my tiny
babies and wanted nothing more than to snuggle in my
arms. They never asked for much but just soaked up all the
love I gave them. And in return they had so much love to
share with me. Our crazy little Goosey may be completely
blind but you wouldn't even know it. She's crazy and silly and
always up for a play fight with her Dad. Jack, Henry, Harry,
Tiny and Norman were such happy little dogs who had so
much joy for life. It didn't matter what medical issues they
had they never let it get in their way. They woke every day
with a wagging tail or a roll on their back.

Joy and Bear were a bonded pair we adopted
from Monika about 3.5 years ago. The love these Joy & Bear shared a very special love….
two pups shared was clear and Bear thought that
his role in life was to protect and care for his love
Joy. She was such a carefree and happy pup and
I truly believe it's because she knew she had Bear
looking after her. When they first arrived Bear was
very unsure of his new home and wanted to make
sure Joy was safe. It didn't take him long to realise
he was in a safe place. Whatever Joy wanted Bear
obliged. If she wanted to snuggle he'd smoosh in
her bed with her. If she wanted her space he'd lie
on the floor next to her.
Their love was really special. Joy passed away a year later and
Bear was there to kiss her goodbye. We had another 2.5 years after
that with our Bear and he was my rock, always by my side while I
cared for the more fragile seniors. In the last year of his life he became
my most fragile dog and it was an absolute pleasure to care for such a
beautiful dog who had dedicated his life to protecting his love Joy.
Each time we lose one of our seniors people often say they don’t
know how we do it. We grieve and mourn the loss of each dog just
like anyone else. It doesn't matter if we've had them for 3 weeks or 3
years, each loss is just as hard. But the love, joy and laughter that we
get out of each dog far outweighs the hard times. I truly believe that I
am so blessed to have known and loved each one, even if it was only
for a short period of time, for the love and memories they leave behind
lasts forever in our hearts. My heart breaks each time we say goodbye,
but is also full of love for each one of my seniors. To care for and love
My sweet Pippy a senior dog at a time of its life when it needs it most is such a gift.

birdies do not like for they all fly away so that is why Dad said I
have to have a pool of my very own.
But it’s NOT my very own because yesterday when the water
started filling it up a little lizard was having a swim in it too!! He
swam and swam, with his little legs beating the water but then
Dad rescued him and put him on a rock.
Trouble is when I jump in the water is clean and after I jump out
and run ‘round the yard, run, run, run and jump in again, it turns

It was Love
at First Sight!
By Ros, Tony, Karlee & Shelley
When we first met Ebony 4yrs ago she was
still nursing her puppies. She had been
rescued by Monika after being dumped by her
previous owner whilst heavily pregnant, even
though she was still only a baby herself.
As soon as we met her, it was love at first
sight. She jumped into the back seat of our car
and we wanted to take her home right then. A
few days later we were so happy to learn that
she had picked us to be her furever home! Ebony had already been through a lot in her short life.
She had severe separation anxiety and couldn’t be left at
home alone, crying and scratching at the door whenever
we left. She was very untrusting of people touching
anywhere near her mouth, so much so that even the vet
couldn’t look at her teeth she was that fearful.
Despite this, Ebony has always been a happy and
loving girl. She’s come such a long way since she’s been
with us, especially since becoming a big sister 6 months
later to another rescue puppy Gabby. Slowly, we were able
to leave her at home for longer periods and now, Ebony
and Gabby stay at home alone together with no issue. At
this point, the 2 of them have so much fun alone together
we miss them more than they miss us!
One of the things we are most proud of is how far she
has come with her teeth. At the start, we couldn’t even
open her mouth to try and get near her teeth to brush them.
Now, brushing her teeth is part of her daily routine and she
is so well behaved while doing it. She continues to amaze
“ Ebony & Gabby have so much fun alone together and inspire us with how much she has overcome.

CHRISTMAS APPEAL 2018
GADAB 2018 How did it all go?
My final words to everyone who has taken part in this
appeal …..The animals in shelters and those not so
fortunate to have a home owe you a depth of gratitude. This
appeal harnesses people’s energy and turns good intention
into action. The essence of the appeal remains the same, 1
person buys 1 item and passes the message on. Its really
too simple to be true that simple action in itself results in 24
services receiving donations from GADAB this year. I hope
the gesture of giving to this appeal has a knock on effect for
you and makes you feel good. That way it’s a win-win
situation for all.
My very best wishes,
Nicola Addison
Please go here https://giveadogabone.info/ in mid
February to read a copy of 'Last Wag of the Tail' final
Report 2018 to see photos of the appeal, read some
testimonials and just soak up the wonder and true essence
of this appeal.
