Miss June is wondering what all the birthday fuss has
been about. We have watched her grow from the time
she was in Hera’s tummy through to now being a
young lady. June is a bashful, reserved teenager who
is waiting for that special family who understand her
sensitivity and can grow her confidence as she
moves into adulthood. We all love her dearly and do
our utmost to prepare her for the big wide world. She
is much more comfortable with women.

Jason, Candy, Merry and Dezzy are thrilled to be

pleased to share some of the limelight and be offered
some of the special birthday cake. I am so proud of
them! They have posed so beautifully for us. It is a lot
of hard work for these rescue puppies!

This month in the people spotlight we say farewell to
Ceallai our trainer as she and her family move to
Perth. We meet some new volunteers like Cynthia
who started helping with customer service, filling
many shifts when we needed help most and has
expanded her skills by moving to volunteering as
kennel hand to get more hands on involvement with
the dogs. Volunteer kennel hand Li Yen talks about
her experiences helping us in the shelter in this role

helping out with maintenance work .Nathan has just installed the

INSPIRING YOUNG PEOPLE

MARU IS RAISING FUNDS

FOR DOGGIERESCUE

Hi, I’m Marú and I have raised over $1,100 for the
animals at Monika’s Doggie Rescue by taking part in the
Sydney Spring Cycle with my Dad, riding 50 kilometres
through the city. In NSW, thousands of dogs are killed
each year because there’s no space in the pounds, or
they don’t get adopted, and I think Monika’s Doggie
Rescue really makes a difference to that. I’m doing this
because I think it’s important to help all these animals that
have gone through terrible stages in life. Every year DR
saves 500 animals from death row. Also, about nine
months ago, they celebrated 12,000 adoptions, and I think
they’re doing great so far, so I want to help too! Marú
