CINDERELLA
BY NUR AISYATUL
HUMAIRAA
Once upon a time there was a kind and
beautiful girl called Cinderella.
She lived with her cruel stepmother and stepsisters
where she was treated as a servant and made her
do a lot of hard work.
One day, big news came to town. It was time for the
Prince to find a bride. All of the young ladies in the
land were invited to come to the prince's ball.
Sadly, the wicked stepmother didn't allow
Cinderella to go.
The day of the ball arrived and they all went to a ball in the
palace, leaving Cinderella behind. Cinderella was feeling sad.
She said aloud, "I wish I could go to the ball, too!"
Then - Poof! A lovely fairy with a gold wand in her hand
appeared in front of Cinderella. "I am your fairy
godmother and you shall go to the ball!" she said.
The fairy godmother asked Cinderella to find her a
pumpkin, six lizards, six mice and a rat.
She touched them with her magic wand and the
pumpkin turned into a magnificent coach...
the lizards into six footmen...
the mice into six magnificent horses...
and the rat into a coachman.
With a flick of the magic, she turned Cinderella into
a beautiful princess with the prettiest glass
slippers.
"Remember, the magic only last until midnight. You
must reach home by then," said the fairy
godmother.
Cinderella arrived at the ball. Everyone was struck by her
beauty and her stepmother and stepsisters did not know who
she was. The prince asked Cinderella to dance and she was
overjoyed.
Cinderella was enjoying herself so much until she
noticed the clock approaching midnight and she
remembered her godmother's words.
Cinderella ran out of the palace. As she ran down
the steps of the palace, one of her glass slippers
fell off, but Cinderella kept running up.
The prince ran after her but he was too late! He found her
glass slipper on the steps. He picked up the glass slipper
and declared "I will marry the girl whose foot fits this
slipper."
The next morning, the prince took the glass slipper to
every house, but it did not fit any of the women who tried
it on. At last, the prince came to Cinderella's house.
The first ugly sister tried to place her foot in the
glass slipper. She tried hard, but it just would not fit
because her foot was too wide.
The second ugly sister tried to fit her foot inside.
She tried and tried with all her might, too. But no
dice because her foot was too long.
"Please may I try on the glass slipper?" asked
Cinderella. The glass slipper fit Cinderella's foot
perfectly!
The Prince had found the girl he was looking for.
They were married and both lived happily ever
after.
