Virginia is the third largest seafood producer and the largest on America’s Atlantic
Coast. Our prime fishing areas include the Atlantic Ocean, the Chesapeake Bay and its
many tributaries, some of the most productive harvesting grounds in the United States.
Large fishing and commercial ports are open year-round assuring buyers a continual
supply of fresh and fresh frozen seafood. Key transportation centers offer daily air
transportation and freight services all over the world.

Virginia Marine Products Board is a trade association responsible for marketing Virginia
seafood for seafood processors and harvesters.
