Greetings
The editorial board stands overjoyed by sending a
token of appreciation and accolade to all the esteemed
authorities who are the extensions of the literary
club. You have helped the students to grow not only
in their professions but also in their personalities by
giving them time to follow their passion for literature.
We have morphed our children to be better than the
rest of all, brimming with confidence, courage and
leadership skills, all with your help. Had you not given
permissions to go and showcase them for things-the
literary club prepares them, all the talent and hard work
wouldn’t have mattered. It makes us honorable to have
you on board for our different editions. The previous
times of the magazine launch were glorious because
of your presence and we hope that you would continue
that way. Thank you for becoming preeminent role
models. Having your backbone makes the literary
club stronger, better, and wiser. Thank you to all the
Principals, Head of Departments, and teachers who
are always here for us, working for our edification.

Mirror to feminism in India
India is a land of rich culture and prestigious heritage and undoubtedly India has
a history of possessing a ‘male dominated’ and ‘male chauvinist’ society since
the ancient era, from Mahabharata and Ramayana to representation of woman in
Parliament; from Nirbhaya rape case to molestation of women at their workplaces,
the prevailing conditions are itself prima facie evidence that woman are the victim
of discrimination and harassment just because their gender is feminine. But then
the noble Indian society says that we have empowered woman by giving them the
golden instrument of feminism. YES! Feminism has given females the right and
freedom to travel alone even at the midnight, but where is the protection needed to
safeguard their life and dignity? Feminism has given them the opportunity to work
as equal to men, but where is the equality of status and respect? In reality feminism
has granted the permission to the female class of Indian society to fight the battle
but without the sword. This clearly proves that feminism for Indian woman is just
a superficial theory. The National Family Health Survey Report says that more than
31% married woman in India are victims of sexual abuse but still marital rape has
not been legalised here. The 2016 report of National Crime Records Bureau states
that in 94.6% rape cases, the perpetrators were known to the victim, creating a huge
question mark on woman’s safety. Thus, all total, when a prismatic mirror is shown
to feminism in India it produces a devastated position of women in Indian society.

National Women Conclave’ 19: Nari Shakti Awards Conferrred
“If you educate a man;
you educate a man.
But if you educate a woman;
you educate a generation.”
…Brigham Young.
To celebrate the spirit of knowledge, embodied in beautiful minds, MAHARISHI
MARKANDESHWAR (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY) celebrated “National Women Conclave” on
25th January 2019.
The event welcomed guests from all over India to torch the flame of motivation, enthusiasm
and zeal to aim for the sky and reach the zenith. MMDU, Mullana conferred Nari Shakti Awards

Young girls, around 2000 in number from the university as well as from other Institutions in the
region got to listen to the stories of the these women in their own words about their struggle,
how they didn’t give up even in the darkest of times and emerged as the rays beaming hope
and light. A souvenir with messages from women achievers and dignitaries was also released
by the guests. Women leaders from corporate and business houses also came to the dais for
brainstorming panel discussions about participation of Indian Women and Young girls in building
the nation. They mandated that a really successful country is represented by the amount of
respect and growth it provides to women; it is safety and security that goes hand in hand but
the mind-set of the masses have to be holistic and responsible.
The first speech was deliverd by Padmashri Kalpana Saroj, she shared her struggle story and

Padmashri Sudha Varghese shared how she brought the social upliftment through Education.
She called for a more comprehensive social welfare participation from all.
Next came up Civil Rights Activists, also known as the Iron Lady- Irom Chanu Sharmila asked

should learn to nurture ourselves.”
Young mountaineer Shivangi Pathak shared her quest of height that turned out to be a highly
motivational story. The young girl from Haryana impressed the audience with her sense of
humour as well.
Mrs. Universe- Shaveta Athwal informed the fair gender that the beauty lies in the inner
strength and it is struggle that makes you glow the brightest.
During lunch time, the achievers shared their accomplishments with Dr. Meenakshi Garg,
Member MM Trust.

Dr. Prabha Garg, Dr. Meenu Gupta and Dr. Shipra Gupta worked as the organizing secretaries of
the event.
The advisor especially Prof. Ram Iyer and Mr. Jatinder Sadhana counselled the team time to
time.
Go Hexi, Go Green!
A remarkable initiative has been taken by MMDU towards the
protection of environment and healthy lifestyle of it’s students by
introducing the concept of Hexi bicycles on the campus. Hexi is
the fastest growing network in India and has grown significantly,
since inception about an year ago, giving credence to the fact that
the government in many Indian cities are serious and committed
to making smart, better and sustainable transport options
available to their residents.
Many universities, which have decided to make their campuses
green, by introducing bicycle friendly initiatives and EVs, have
also helped the rapid growth of the Hexi network.
The main aim of this initiative is to reach to the students, and
bring environment friendly short distance transportation options
to more and more people across the country.
Hexi cycles have boosted up the morals of students for staying
fit and healthy and is also a fun activity for them. Hence, within
the campus it has proved itself as a great source of recreational
activity. All the students are delighted by this new organizational
approach to keep environment green and clean. Till now it has
proved its efficiency within the campus of MMDU and is a
successful step for the development of institution on behalf of
the management and authorities.

MUSER’S VOICE
HER HEART CALLS
Listen girls, hear it clear and loud
Shsh!! be quiet don't talk so loud
You should not wear shorts or a skirt
because that means your character is full of dirt
You should not walk out of home at night
otherwise with evil souls you will have to fight
No, you cannot be fat
because the world will force you to wear the body shaming hat
You all might have listened to all these
with these harsh words others tease;
The struggle doesn't end here
let me be very loud and clear
At home she cries behind the door
because her cheek is red and soar
In the womb the foetus cries
as her soul is crushed and she dies
When her boyfriend grips her arm
her heart crushes and she never recovers from that harm.
The struggle is long and wild
but girls never mind
You are stronger than all
get up whenever you fall
Don't stop, speak clear and loud
shout and say your mind with proud
We must teach our boys
that women never were and are not toys.

The Lilliput
Conqueror
Lost, come find me in The Black Forest The Morse
Laying somewhere in the silky nests Code
Caress your hair and there I’m
You may be wondering what’s the scam? Detached, there goes the lever,
Rotating freely in the cosmos I quiver.
By Thee will, I’m tiny. No use of contacting the NASA stations,
Yet, possessing a heart of gold, being shiny. It’s all gone now, as I float above with some
Cupping me in your hands, remaining patience.
As I watch the alluring beauty from the stands.
Tossing me up, you smirked with glee, All this life, living for a moment
Certainly not in a hurry to flee, Here I’ve the SPACE but sadly not the TIME
Thank God I landed on those creamy cheeks. Soon pulled back,
Crawling up my way I reach a place so lavish, Like a meteorite about to crash.
Yes, it definitely is your Iris. HOPE they make a wish soon,
The only place where the black hole shows mercy to light, A BOON before my impending DOOM.
Allow me to watch the spectacle all night.
Sliding down the slippery nose,
I took a turn into those growing dimples,
Don’t worry I won’t describe those volcanic pimples,
Treading my way into those glossy lips,
Allow me to call it dibs,
On those strawberry strips.
Looking straight down at me you Coy, An ode to Explorers of the Unknown,
Don’t you worry I’m not a Decoy. Keep pushing,
I’m just a hopeless Wanderer, Travel those light years, making sure not to die,
Thee called upon me to make you smile, Until then, save my HELLO from the other side.
Which would label me as the Lilliput Conqueror.

Thou Art My Unbalanced
Master! Human
Thou art my master, O'lord, There are no poems, no words heavy enough to break
I pray and string thy cords, what is inside me.
Questions, revealations or reticence, I am two parts too much and one part not enough.
Thou art my listener to it all. Unbalanced.
Determined to break down your walls whilst putting

Whether in blooms, or in thorns, Getting to my root of my trauma and staying there.

Through my slips or raging falls. Forgetting to come back up for air.
I am resilient but I am not.
Some inevitable sorrows, episodic gloom, I am hardened by the same thing that softens me;
With thy might, they shall sway soon, Weakened by the same thing that empowers me.
I shall hail in thy light, O'lord, I am a tangle of contradictions, a mess of mistakes.
Thou art my master, O' heavenly boon. Masking love for anger. Mistaking anger for love.
I am powerful in the same breathe that I am not.

I shall drip in finesse and applaud,

Nightangale’s mesmerising voice filled the atmosphere. The sword that you gave.
Style of stride; You are exuberant.
Way of orientation; Like a wind, like a flower.
Acting as a tranquilizer. You are the charm of my life.
Time flies and I never saw her, So you,
But as said that destinies can’t be altered. Please make a bond with me, just don’t leave me alone.

You want to turn and run away No hard work no gains.
You fumble and tip toe in the hallway. The few days that brings you down,
The mirror calls you again, The few days people call you a clown.
“How long can you not acknowledge the pain?” Lost in hopelessness and despair,
You unleash the waters, let it rain. Anxieties lead to grasping for air,
You let the tears pour down in vain. Remind yourself;
You feel the broken bones and smothered skin, Too much of sunshine makes a desert,
You let the mirror’s wisdom sink in. Tornadoes grow in dirt.
You genuinely smile and say it’s going to be fine, It's because you can,
You will reek of hope and sunshine. And so you will.
Today, you blow out confidence A little more to climb the hill,
You take down the nefarious fence. Few more miles to go until.

the colleges and institutions of MM(DU) were encouraged to explore their hidden talent
and rock the stage through various activities like Music, Dance, Theatre, Literary, Fine Arts

Serving as a powerful medium to develop the student’s personality and confidence in a
holistic manner, the Talent Hunt received humongous participation. The event instilled a
healthy competitive spirit among students as well as inspired them to perform infront of
crowd.
A child with no hobbies is a man with no improvisational skills. Here at MMDU, every year the
students are given an opportunity to outshine themselves and embark their personalities
that are muffled under the books of their curriculum. AMMUNATION-2019 started with
zeal and enthusiasm and consisted of plethora of events. These competitions boosted the
confidence of the students and helped children to beat the everyday chaos and stress.
From tapping the feet to finding the footloose, from fanning the thoughts to
putting the ink to paper, from folding sheets to crafting exquisite art, from finding
the musical chorus to singing like a Nightingale, from banging the metals to
creating pleasant music, from finding interests that are imaginations sprouting
out to make a forest of creativity, Ammunation 2019 covered and marked it all.
It lasted for more than 2 months and ended with the valedictory ceremony where the
winners were bestowed with prize, trophies and other merits. It was a creative spell of
Co-corricular spirit that bonded the students of MMDU on a whole different level. It ended
lavishly and promised to come back soon again.

SYMPHONY OF WORDS
Overcoming Obstacles
An obstacle is anything that gets in your way of achieving your goals and living the life you truly desire.
Obstacles present themselves the moment you set your sight on something you want.
Why is overcoming obstacles important? Obstacles derail you. They keep you stuck in the past by
preventing you from taking action. They root you in fear, convincing you that you aren’t good enough, you
don’t know enough, you don’t have enough time or money, and you’re out of options. If you don’t learn how
to overcome obstacles, you run the risk of being ruled by them.
In many cases, obstacles are physical or blatant, whereas some are non-physical and less discernable.
In some ways they can show up as limiting beliefs you have about yourself or others, and on some days
they appear as other people or circumstances preventing you from being, doing, or having the things you
want. Obstacles show up in many forms and are experienced throughout the energetic (spiritual), mental,
emotional, and physical bodies.
Depending on how you deal with the obstacles that present themselves will determine the frequency
and intensity in which you experience them. Following is a guided meditation for helping you to overcome
obstacles in any area of your life. As you move through each self-reflection question, allow yourself a
minute or two for contemplation.
• Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
• Take a long deep breath in 2-3 times and begin to take slow deep breaths, in and out through your nose.
• Allow your shoulders to relax and your torso to soften with every exhale.
• Bring into your awareness an area of your life where an obstacle is present.
• Think about when, where, and how this obstacle began.
• Ask yourself, who or what triggers the problem? What thoughts and emotions are prevalent when the
obstacle is present?
• Now bring your attention to the cost of this obstacle. How does it affect your ability to be? How does it
affect the things you want in life? How does it affect those around you?
• Next, see what can be available to you if you overcome this obstacle and are able to move powerfully
forward in your life.
• Consider anyone you know who has already overcome this kind of obstacle. Who was it? What approach
did they take?
• Ask yourself or the Universe for guidance as to navigate and overcome this obstacle.
• Imagine your life as if the obstacle was dissolved and you are now standing in the life you have created
by design.
• After you have a positive internal representation (an image, sound, or feeling) of being free from this
obstacle, spend a few moments in quiet contemplation before slowly coming out of your meditation.

HOW GOOGLE CONTROLS YOUR LIFE ?
There is a new controller in the house. You all know it but might not be aware- how it affects your day to
day life.
“Google is taking over our life”. It may be difficult to swallow this truth that there is someone who knows
everything, who will answer everything you ask in a minute. This truth may strike you as lightning!
Google knows everything about you – the books you read, the places you visit, the site you browse. Do you
remember google play store- the google market. It is the new DJ of 21st century who make people dance
on it’s beats. If you remember TIK-TOK it was banned recently just because it’s affecting people’s life not
just physically but mentally too.
Google’s open source operating system powers mobile devices worldwide. Even a lot of people using
apple devices wind up using android phones.
If you’re using chrome then Google can track your every step online. Gmail, Youtube, Google drive and
much more applications, making your life easier.
With Google’s I/O developers conference this week, you have another hand full of gadgets and services
that sync up and make your life so easier.
Nowdays you can even transfer money with the help of Google. You just need to use it prudently.
Overall you all know – Excess of everything is bad. Google has made our life easier but above all day by
day you are getting obsessed with it.

Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR):
Voluntary or Statutory
The societal obligatory part of the profit making corporate i.e., Corporate Social Responsibility, known
with other names as Corporate Citizenship and Responsible Business is making sense and gaining much
popularity now-a-days. It means that the corporate houses have to spend 2% of the amount of profit
on social causes to uplift the societal status. Earlier it was done by the business houses to create and
maintain goodwill into the society, but now it has been made mandatory by the government.
CSR is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic
development while improving the quality of life of workforce and their families as well as of the local
community and society at large. (Lord Holme & Richard Watts, 1999)

Mental Health and Disorder:
Nothing is more terrifying than battling with your own mind every single day. We can’t
often comprehend what’s going on in the mind of a mentally ill patient. There may be
some thoughts, emotions and feelings that they don’t share with us due to fear of being
misjudged or misunderstood. For them it’s like trying to explain colour to someone who is
colorblind.
They may give you random passing statements like ‘I want to run away or hide, I want to go
somewhere far, I am a burden on my family, I should not have been born.’ They start losing
concentration on work and studies. They start dodging people.
You may find them sleep-deprived or oversleeping. You may find them agitated and not
at peace. In this way their mental health screams for attention but instead of confronting
this issue, we often try to cover it because we live in a society where if you break your arm
everyone runs over to sign your cast but if you tell people you are depressed or mentally
ill they run the other way. It is ironical that a society which can now speak openly about
topics which were ones unspeakable still remains silent when it comes to mental illness.
Time has come to discuss this issue openly and face it. People don’t hide it when they have
fever, heart problems or diabetes then why to be ashamed of depression, anxiety, bipolar
disorder or ADHD. Issues like these and other major mental illnesses such as OCD, post
traumatic stress disorder and schizophrenia should be taken seriously because with a
little encouragement and correct treatment at correct time can save one person from
going further into the grasp of such issues.
Now the question arises “how to improve mental health?”
1. Making the conscious decision to improve mental health is a critical first step.
2. Practice whatever relaxes you and feeds your mind with positive, happy thoughts.
3. Recharge yourself with some relaxing music and reboot yourself by socializing.
4. Track your progress over time by putting it on paper because if you track things like
your eating habits, sleeping hours, exercise regimen you become aware of the reality of
situation.
5. Things like sleep, good nutrition and exercise should be high on your to-do list. Just like
insulin reduces diabetes; Healthy lifestyle, counselling and medication reduces mental
