ABSTRACT

In short, leave can be defined as any period of an officer it is allowed to leave his job and
the omission of the task is not counted as termination of service or as termination of
employment. In Malaysia, the employees are entitled to paid annual leave, which depends
on the period of employment as follows: 8 days per year for employees who have worked
1-2 years, 12 days per year for those who have worked 2-5 years, 16 days per year for
employees who have worked longer than 5 years. There are 4 type pf leave that can be
apply by employee which are leaves given in service, application for medical service, leave
without record and other leave. Each type of leave applied for has certain conditions to
enable the leave to be approved so every employee should always be alert to those
conditions. As we know there are various types of illnesses whether cured quickly or take
a long time, so the leave provided is also set based on the employee's recovery rate for
example sick leave with salary or extended sick leave with no salary but assistance
allowances. The employee must provide supporting documents to apply leave such as sick
certificate and confirming document expected date of delivery for maternity leave. Lastly,
CTG eligibility is 30 days for each full year of qualifying service but the amount shall not
exceed 360 days.

First of all, we would like to express our special thanks and the appreciation for the both
of our lecturers, Miss Norhayati Yaacob and Miss Wan Nor Azleen Wan
A.Rahman@Hasnan that gave us the responsibility to finish this assignment of report
based on the topic that was chosen, Leave Entitlements. At the end of the research, we
could conclude that, we learnt lot of new things and of course as this is the group work,
so we possibly get to know each other way more better among the group members. As
we all know, leave entitlements is one of the important elements in the public sector
especially in Human Resource Management. Therefore, our group report analysed and
observed among the importance, types, the definition, conditions and procedure to apply
the leave by the public officer. We also would like to thank for your guidances,
motivations, advises and sacrifices that have you done for us in completing this
assignment. Despite having challenges in online learning, this task will not be completed
on time without the cooperation of all members of the group.

THE CONDITIONS FOR APPLYINGCSG ARE 5.0 What are the conditions and documents
AS FOLLOWS: required to apply for half pay leave (CSG) ?

1. The officer applying must have qualifying service years, which is 30 days for
every full one (1) year of qualifying service and does not exceeding 180 days.

2. Approved by the Head of Department for a period of 14 days
in one (1) year.

3. Approved by the Secretary General of the Ministry for the remaining
number of days.

4. A Government or private doctor’s certificate certifying that this officer
need to take care of the patient.

5. Statement of Service and statement of Leave are included in the
application:, and

6. Qualified Leave does not need to be spent prior to applying for this
application.

9.0 How much is eligible for unpaid leave (CTG) for
officers who have served for 1 years 6 months ?

CTG eligibility is 30 CTG = Service Period (day) x 30 Therefore, based on the
days for each full days following calculations, the
year of qualifying CTG eligibility of officers is
service but the 365 days 45 days, including
amount shall not = (547 days / 365 days) x 30 days
exceed 360 days. = 45 days - weekly rest days,

9 - weekly holidays and

- public holidays.

10.0 What is sick leave ?

SICK LEAVE PURPOSE Given to officers who have been certified as not healthy
to work by the Medical Officer so that officers can rest
at home or hospital for restore his health.

The first 90 days are approved by the Head of Department. RATE
An additional 90 days was approved by the KSU.
