Where is it said that to be a mother you have to play it safe? Motherhood is
only one facet, albeit one of the most important ones, of a woman’s life. You
are a mom, a sister, a wife, a friend, a boss or an employee, and a woman.
Some of your aspirations involve your family, and some are for you alone.
Create a life that is both meaningful and purposeful. A life that is vibrant and
inspirational to the people around you. Make your mark on the world, and
don’t look for approval. You have to know your own heart and trust yourself.
Only you know what is best for you and your family. Blaze your own path,
and don’t look back.

It is natural and healthy to strive to rock all your roles in life. The key is to go
for progress, not perfection. Perfection is a myth created to make all parents
crazy. You want to follow your instincts and take chances on ful lling your
dreams? It is a messy business. Love the imperfection. Motherhood will also
come with guilt. How many times have you heard or felt, “My career or goals
are taking time away from my family.” I know that guilt. It basically rides
shotgun everywhere I go. Every good mother is familiar with it. We grossly
underestimate the value of modeling life for our children. Shouldn’t our sons
and daughters see us loving them, caring for them, being successful, making
a difference, and taking care of our own needs as well? Prioritize time with
your family and strive for quality time over quantity.

Life is what you put into it. If you want to settle on only one part of who you
are this blog is not for you. If you pursue ful llment in all areas of your life,
do what you love, and consistently seek to improve and learn new things
then we are your tribe. Life beyond your comfort zone is scary, messy,
beautiful, and awe-inspiring. We only get one ride. Moms, give yourself some
credit…live an extraordinary multifaceted life!
