TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS.
HYPERLOOP
Programme Development
Hyperloop, the high-speed transportation system first envisioned by Tesla
CEO Elon Musk, is more than a new form of transport - it’s about connectivity,
changing how we consider time and distance.
The Australian Hyperloop Network offers a new way to move people and
freight along the East coast of Australia; safely, sustainably and really fast!
With the ability to move people and 40 foot containers at 1000km/h, the
Australian Hyperloop Network will solve a number of critical economic,
metropolitan and regional development and infrastructure challenges facing
Australia. This includes relieving congestion in cities, enabling growth in
regional centres and taking pressure off our ports, airports, and intercity
transport routes. This new technology will also require local advanced
manufacturing, creating new industries and putting Australia at the forefront
of future transport.
The Australian Hyperloop Network proposition will provide connectivity for
people and freight from Geelong in Victoria to Newcastle in NSW. The initial
concept aims to connect the three State and Territory capitals - Melbourne,
Canberra and Sydney, a number of regional centres and provide links to major
ports and airports via an inland corridor.
HKA is providing advisory services for this project, helping to navigate and
establish key links with government while also solving the challenges that
come from implementing fundamentally new ideas. While still in its infancy,
over the coming months we are ramping up our efforts with plans for a
Sydney Hyperloop Summit. The summit aims to bring the technology to life
for key stakeholders and map the path for future engagement. Shortly after,
we will be full steam ahead with a feasibility study..
