INTRODUCTION AIM English Week provides an opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in an English-speaking environment via healthy, educational and enjoyable activities. ACTIVITIES PLANNED RATIONALE The English Week, organized by the English Panel, offers a number of interesting languagebased activities for all the students of SK Bertam Hulu, Melaka. The objectives of the program include inculcating the love of English Language in the participants. Futhermore, the program is held to stimulate the students' interest in English language as it promotes learning outside the classroom context. Through participation in the activities, students' self-concept, self-confidence and self-esteem are enhanced. English Week is aimed at promoting the use of English as a communicative tool in authentic situations. Students will enjoy themselves in a non-threatening and nurturing environment when using the language. The focus of doing things outside the language classroom will help the students to relax and not be intimidated by others who are fluent in English Language. Support from friends and the activities planned will help students to enjoy what they are doing, and thus break the barrier that some students have when they are reluctant to use English Language. OBJECTIVES Communicate effectively and confidently in English Language. To promote the use of English Language among students. Develop positive attitudes and values.
