Masterbatches are generally employed in polymer treatment to integrate additives or color pigments and antimicrobials into the polymer resin or other liquid. A masterbatch can be basically understood as a solid product, generally of rubber, plastic, or elastomer, in which additives or pigments are ideally scattered at high concentration in a scaffold material. The scaffold material is congruous with the principal plastic in which it will be mixed and amalgamated during the process of molding, and thus, the ultimate plastic product achieves the color or attributes from the masterbatch.
