Club Assembly
It has been aptly quoted, "if you don't show appreciation to those that deserve it, they
will learn to stop doing things you appreciate". What better occasion than the last club
assembly to appreciate and boast about the work done in the entire Rotary year and
give due credit to the people who made things happen.
Our Smart President correctly used this opportunity to showcase the journey of the
smart year. She appreciated one and all who contributed for execution of so many
wonderful projects undertaken during the smart year. Her excitement and satisfaction
was seen in the zeal with which she presented her remarkable journey. Not a single
Avenue of Service was left untouched during the year and some exceptional
benchmarks were set. Our Club DS Rtn. Piyush Shah and Club AG Rtn. Tila Patel really
praised the wonderful Smart Rotary year that MWE had witnessed under the
leadership of our smart president. The list of the events and projects undertaken right
from presenting of accounts, to talking about each Avenue be it medical, non medical,
sports, women empowerment, fellowship, editorial.....is endless. Just to list down some
of the achievements:
* Received RI Platinum Presidential Citation
* Rotaract Club of MWE received RI Platinum Presidential Citation with Distinction
* Received the much awaited Charter Certificate for RCC of Adarsh Nagar (Rotary
Community Corps). Thanks to the efforts of Rtn. Ashish Poddar
* Applied for 8 Global Grants. Thanks to Rtn. Deepak Choudhary and entire TRF team
* Contributed $141,183 towards global grants
* Projects worth 1.50 Crores were carried out during COVID relief work
These are just a few to be listed. The journey was long but we were stepping
continuously and that's what led to all the accomplishments.

HELPING HANDS
‘Being Rotarian’. It first tells us to keep our long hands-free to be able to reach wherever
possible always ready to help.
Medical Assistance
1. “Sir ......thank you very much ....aaap logon ne help kiya
mere daddy co yeh….Bhagwaaan apko or aaapki family
ko hamesha khush rakkhein .”This gratitude filled words
were told to Rotarians who helped the patient for
HERNIA operation.
2. We gave medicine for a 12 year old child suffering from
blood disorder. During this pandemic when the daily
wage earners cannot afford their daily bread, our club
decided to provide five months of medicine supply to
the family in Kurar village. This could be only possible
because of Rtn. Anil Dedhia and the Women
Empowerment team. The team assured them of their
support in future too, if required.
3. Medicine given to young lady which is a life saving drug
and her husband was full of gratitude towards our club
and was extremely overwhelmed with the help provided
at these trying times. We assured him of our help in the
forthcoming two months as well.
4. Helped Jaya Manikam who was detected with multiple
blockages during hip replacement surgery, financially.

Community Lighting
Even during lockdown RCMWE members continued to serve the community. The club
identified that it was getting difficult for people to go and utilize the common washroom
which is set up near to the Aarey forest area close to Bageshwari temple of Kurar Village.
Keeping the motto of ‘Service above Self’ high, our Rtn. Sachin Patodia organized for five
solar lights which were installed within a day’s time. This clearly shows the dedication and
commitment of Rtn. Sachin Patodia for helping in lightning the life of others. Special
thanks to Rtn. Ashish Poddar for coordinating the same.
Installation of ECG machine
Our Vocational Director, Rtn. Vikas Goel donated one ECG machine worth 19,000 to M.L.
Dhawale Memorial Trust Hospital, in Palghar, Boisar. This will help the hospital to handle
patients within the hospital and indeed a gracious donation project even in the lockdown
scenario.

more to do!
As I take the post of President, I consider myself fortunate to be leading such a

and we need teamwork which I aim to accomplish in this stupendous year of our

Today as we start afresh, it’s an opportunity for us to renew our inspiration and think

ROTARACT ACTIVITIES
The 4th quarter of Rotaract movement of MWE was a transformational one mainly due to
outbreak of Covid19.
We started with a fun Tambola Event that saw 50+ participants and raised `3,000 for PM
cares fund through the event. We continued our reach with a PR project called Elite
Impressions where we got stories of 20+ Rotaractors on how the movement has
transformed them. Some fun reminiscing happened with Elite Retrospect where pictures
of things you miss in lockdown were shared on our SM.
We then had our online OCV where 60+ members and President Rtn. Shelza Choudhary,
Youth Director Rtn. Gaurav Khetan and Interact President Shloka Khetan too took part and
shared experience of year 19-20.
We also executed 8 twin club and 1 sister club agreement and started a blog writing event
called #LifeinTheLockdown.
In the month of May 2020, we had a string of joint projects which included Master classes
on French and Public Speaking with RC Bombay Chembur West, an editorial jumbled
words event called Lettered Lanes with RC Lokhandwala, a fun event called Fill in the
Blanks with RC Ghatkopar and RC Kandivali and a session held by DRR Kushal Bhuva on
How to Network with 5 other Rotaract clubs.
We also contributed to vitamin tablets for policemen through Rtr. Yash Panchal by
donating `3,600.
A perfect end to activities was Elite Treasure Hunt ERYLA where a team of 14 volunteers
made 100+ MWE family people play an online treasure hunt and winners were awarded
cash prizes.
So overall, we can proudly say that RI 19-20 ended on a very successful note with a well
deserved Platinum Citation for our Rotaract club from Rotary International for all the 115
members of our club.

We really enjoyed playing it as it was our source of joy in these difficult times.
Also thanks to Rotaract as we utilized our time for something productive as the
amount collected was donated to PM care fund.
• On the 9th of May we had a French basics course conducted by Saloni Shah. It
was in collaboration with Rotaract.
• On 10th May we had a Creative writing and Public Speaking course conducted by
Harshvardhan Saraf. Again in collaboration with Rotaract.

Poetry by Ann. Pallavi Agarwal, w/o Rtn. Arvind Agarwal
History will remember when
the world stopped
And the flights stayed on
the ground.
And the cars parked in the street.
And the trains didn't run.
History will remember when
the schools closed
And the children stayed indoors
And the medical staff walked
towards the fire
And they didn't run.
History will remember when
the people sang
On their ba1conies, in isolation
But so very much together
In courage and song.
History will remember when
the people fought
For their old and their weak
Protected the vulnerable
By doing nothing at all.
History w1ll remember when
the virus left
And the houses opened
And the people came out
And hugged and kissed
And started again
Kinder than before.
Pallavi Agarwal also won ‘perfect, confident and best
personality’ award in Mrs. Lockdown competition held by
LA GRACE on 18th, 19th and 20th May.

Initiatives of Ann. Pallavi Amit Aggarwal
The current lockdown eventually proved to be a 'Blessing in Disguise'
with a bundle of opportunities to explore about my passion and
fascinations.
I always had an inclination towards yogic science. I explored immensely
in this stream which deals with body, breath, mind (conscious and
subconscious mind), soul and ultimately the universe itself; and I
gradually pursued it as a lifestyle.
Being a reiki healer and teacher, I genuinely wanted to explore more
about the seven major chakras of the subtle body. I discovered
significant properties of the chakras as well the yogic mudras and am
currently passing on my knowledge to my students.
I had learnt Acupressure therapy couple of years back, I utilised these
months of lockdown in exploring more about this therapy and also other
therapies related to it. My skills to perform this therapy have
exponentially improved.
I even started with a Project called 'Smart Parenting' @ Narayan Reiki
Sparkling stars where in everyday we convey thoughtful positive
messages to the society which helps in pacifying our thought process.
Poem written by Rtn. Neena Bagga
I am a Rotarian
Know that when you practice social distancing, you are saying,
"I Love you"
Know that when you wear a face covering, you are saying, "I care for you"
Know that when you missed a special occasion, you are saying,
"I am persevering"
Know that when you feel inundated with additional work, you are thinking
"I am grateful for my health care professionals"
Know that when you resist communicating your political convictions, and
your robust immunity, you are saying "I respect you, and I saved a life,
I might not ever meet"
Know that when you sleep in the night, you are saying, ‘I have done
everything possible to shield this community and this World’
Know that when you wake up in the morning, that you are a Rotarian
“I am happy, I am doing my bit”
Know that you are more substantial than just you, your family, You are
saying “I am the World”

Slowly, steadily and surely from 25 storeys to 50 to 100 and finally
achieved 325 Storeys of CLIMBING STAIRCASE, 13 times x 25 storeys.
Skipping Rope - Starting from 500 on day one and gradually increasing
daily, reached 5000 skippings in 30 minutes flat (including 2200 in

Along with my daily Staircase Climbing, Skipping and Intermediate Food
