Where we started……
Colin Lane, the founder and managing director, formed the business together with his wife Ann
in 1971. Colin and Ann already had vast experience and local knowledge of Walsall’s leather
making craft industries and saw an opportunity of producing high quality collars and leads for
the pet trade. The family have always kept to its early philosophy of using the best quality bridle
leather in production, offering a consistent service and high standard of reliability and quality.

Ancol Pet Products Limited is an independent, family owned and run company with nearly 50 years
of manufacturing and trading experience. Since our humble beginnings in 1971, we have worked
hard to grow and develop the business. It is now one of the UK’s leading suppliers of pet
accessories offering everything you need for the animal in your life. We are proud of the reputation
we have built for excellent quality, service, and reliability, and we continue to deliver on these
promises to this day.

We are proud that 95% of the leather collars and leads we sell are manufactured in
the UK, and have been for more than 42 years! Manufacturing quality leather collars
and leads is at the heart of our business: we make more than half a million leather
collars every year. We continue to invest in equipment to help keep us competitive
and protect jobs and traditional leather skills. As one of the leading suppliers of pet
accessories, we endeavour to design and manufacture even more of our products
here in the UK.
Manufacturing & Warehousing

Ancol despatch nearly 2.5 million accessories every year. The vast number and
product variation now on offer gives us the complex task of ensuring stock levels
keep pace with demand. We still hold a huge inventory in our warehouse to minimise
out of stocks and to be able to offer high availability.
