Summer Reading
Part I - Reflection Log
Each entry is a well-organized paragraph. Basic editing applies.
Indentation, capital letters where needed, proper punctuation and spelling are
required. A paragraph is at least five sentences long.
#1 Before You Read
By looking at the cover, reading the back, and/or talking to others, what do
you anticipate the book to be about? Feel free to be honest.
#2 After Chapter Two
Write about a character, the setting, or plot. Maybe ask the author a question
about something you are not clear about.
#3 Halfway Through the Book
Tell me what you are feeling. Use examples and colorful language as needed. If
you love it, let me know. If you hate it, why?
#4 You are Finished Reading
So…what do you think? Tell me the best part of the book and the worst
part. These are your reflections. There are no right or wrong answers.
Part II - Creative Project
To be completed in school upon our return. Directions will be given during the 1st
week of school.
