Application Properties and Compatibility
Apply on rusted or non-rusted metal surfaces.
For best results, apply finishing coat:
• Gloss paints - high quality.
• Polyurethane or Epoxy systems for metal
Surface Preparation
• Remove dirt, grease oil and other contaminants.
• Remove loose and heavy rust scale with a wire brush, scraper, sand paper or mechanical grinder.
• Sand down uneven thickness of rust until there’s a thin even layer of rust.
• Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from other contamination.
• Metal substrates do not need to be completely rust free. The presence of some rust on the surface is actually
beneficial for Rust Killer 3-in-1.
Application
• Preferably to apply by brush for better performance. You may use a paint roller for larger area.
• Wear protective goggles and rubber gloves.
• Mix or shake well before using. Apply only when temperatures are between 10°C to 32°C. Pour
into a clean container.
• Apply one coat if substrate is for interior use. Two coats for exterior use, or if surface is heavily rusted.
Second coat can be applied within 15 to 30 minutes of the first coat.
• After 4 hours to one week, the primed surface must be painted with a high-quality finishing coat.Two coats
are recommended. Oil-based alkyd, polyurethane or epoxy types are preferred. Water-based acrylic metal
paints may be permeable to water vapour and will not provide adequate protection against further rusting.
• Immediately clean all tools and equipment with clean water and ordinary dishwashing liquid.
IMPORTANT: TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION, DO NOT RETURN MATERIAL INTO ORIGINAL CONTAINER AFTER USE
Precaution
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Ensure adequate ventilation during application or drying.
• Wash off with water and soap in case of skin contact.
• Avoid contact with eyes. Rinse eye with water and contact medical help for
accidental contact.
Rust neutralisation has started when the surface turns black. Depending on weather conditions, the surface should take about 1 hour to dry. You can apply the finishing coat after 4-6 hours or within 1 week. For best results, use the following paints as finishing coats:
• High quality gloss paints
• Polyurethane or Epoxy systems for metal surfaces
