ENGLISH STORYTELLING COMPETITION SJK(C) KUALA LANGAT 2023 Objectives： （a） To instill the importance of English Language among pupils in Chinese Primary School. （b） To build the confidence to use English in daily life. Rules and Regulation: 1. This competition is open to all existing Chinese Primary School pupils in Kuala Langat. 2. Story can be originally written, adapted or authentic. 3. The theme of the story must be educational, moralistic and must not touch on sensitive issues such as race, religion, colours, personalities and etc. 4. Each participant is given 5 minutes. If time is exceeded, 1 mark will be deducted for every 30 seconds. Timing starts when the participant starts his/her story. 5. Marks are given on: Pronunciation : 30% Expression : 20% Intonation : 30% Contents : 20% In the event of ties, the difference of marks in Pronunciation, Intonation, Expression and Contents will be taken into account in that order. 6. Participants should be in their school uniforms. They are not allowed to wear costumes, lounge suit, tie or bow. 7. Participants are not allowed to use props, pictures or cardboards. 8. Participants who are late for 15 minutes or more will be disqualified. 9. The judges’ decision is final.
