Possessive nouns When a noun is singular, we show possession by adding an apostrophe followed by an s (’s). When a plural noun ends in s, we show possession by adding only an apostrophe (’). When a plural noun does not end in s, we show possession by adding an apostrophe followed by an s (’s). They tell us what colour, size or shape the nouns are. a red cap a big car a rectangular container When we use more than one adjective to describe a noun, we follow this order: size, shape, colour, material a small, round, yellow, plastic ball the big, square, green, wooden picture frame When we compare two people or things that are more or less equal, we use as + adjective + as. This car is as fast as that one. Suffian is as talented as his brother, Shukri. When we compare two unequal nouns, we add er to the adjectives followed by than (the comparative). This book is thicker than that one. My bag is smaller than yours. When we compare more than two nouns, we add the + est to the adjectives (the superlative). Haziq is the fastest runner in my class. My grandfather is the oldest of his siblings. Here is a list of comparisons for you to learn.
