A SINGULAR noun tells us that there is only ONE of something. person a boy animal a bird place a house thing an apple But a noun can also name two or more people, animals, places or things. We call them plural nouns. We add an s to the end of the noun to make it plural. They tell us what something looks like, feels like, tastes like or smells like. Colours and shapes are also adjectives. When we do that, we have to write the first letter of their names with a capital letter. Sometimes we use titles in front of people’s names. These titles must begin with CAPITAL letters: Mr Mrs Miss Encik Puan Dr Remember • Eron, Farah, Mustafa and Gowri are some of the special names that people have. • Optimus and Bubbles are also special names that people give their pets. • We always write the first letter of these names with a capital letter. • We call these names PROPER NOUNS.
