BOOK REVIEW

Hello everyone! My name is Kavinaasri Kumaran and I’m from Sekolah Kebangsaan
Convent (1) Klang. I am 11 years old this year and I’m from class 5 Bestari. Today I will
share my my most favourite book review. The title of my book review is Fairy Tales
written by the Brothers Grimn and published by Miles Kelly in the year 2017. One of
the classic story that I chose from the Fairy Tales collection is The Fisherman and His
Wife. Now, I will tell the author Brothers Grimm is the main author and the famous
author for the fairy tales collection or and the authors are Jacob Grimn, Ludwig Emil
Grimm, Carl Fredich Grim and so on. Now I will tell you all the story.

Once upon a time, there lived a poor man who was a fisherman live in a shack with his
wife. The fisherman everyday will go out for fishing and every evening he will return
will one or two little fish. But one day, the fisherman was astonished when he pull up
his line and saw a huge talking flounder that claimed to be an enchanted prince. Hey,
fisherman! Said the flounder. “ You can talk! “ Yes, fisherman I can talk said the
flounder. I beg you, please let me alive. Of course said the fisherman. The fisherman
put the flounder back in the sea and he hurried to home. Do you have anything for
today ? grumbled his wife. Not exactly ! but today I caught a talking flounder that
claimed to be an enchanted prince. Did you wish for anything? No , it didn’t cross my
mind. Well, look here! sighed the woman. It is so awful to stay here. You might ask the
flounder to get a small cottage. But the fisherman not comfortable for that suggestion.
And there’s a big argue between the fisherman and his wife.

But finally the fisherman agreed for that situation. He went to the sea but the sea turn
to purple and black in colour. He called out the flounder, Flounder , flounder in the sea,
come I beg you here tome. The flounder also came to the fisherman. Well, what do
you want fisherman? It’s not me, it’s my wife. She wanted a small and beautiful
cottage. I already granted your wife’s wish. Thank you, said the man. He went to the
sack instead of a sack there’s a beautiful cottage. Behind the cottage there are many
type of fruit and flowers. The cottage was very beautiful. Isn’t this beautiful? Yes ! Can
we stay here forever. Okay , let me think about it ! said said his wife. The couple
stayed there for fortnight. But one day, the fisherman’s wife said I don’t want to stay
here. This place is too small for us. I want a place and I want to be a Queen. You want
to be a queen. No, this is enough for us, said the man. The fisherman went to the sea
again. There are many thunderstorm and waves. The fisherman was very scared.
Flounder please come here. The flounder also came. Well, what do you want now ? It’s
not me it’s my wife. My wife wanted a palace and she want to be a queen. Is it ! I
already granted your wife’s wish. He went to the place that where is the cottage was.
There’s no cottage. There’s a big place. He went inside the place and saw his wife
sitting on a throne wearing a golden crown. Isn’t this beautiful?Said his wife. Yes , it’s
beautiful can we stay here forever? “ Forever “ hmm! Let me think about it. The wife
never sleep for one week. But one day, she said to her husband. I don’t want to be a
queen. Instead of that, I want to be a god. “ An unknown god ”. What, no. There’s a
big fight between the fisherman and his wife. Finally. The fisherman agreed and he
returned to the sea. The sea was terrible. He called out the flounder. Flounder please
come here ! Flounder please come here. The flounder came. Well, what do your wife
want now. She wanted to be a god! An unknown god.

Is it? Okay, I already granted your wife’s wish. The flounder taught that his wife is very
greedy. The fisherman went to the palace. He cannot see his wife anywhere. He went
to the sea again. He ask the flounder where is his wife. The flounder said, your wife
already be a god. God, what god. But, I can’t see her. Do you can see god. No, I can't .
so, she already be a god. She wanted the moon to rise and the sun to set. Okay, but I
want my wife to come back. Please, I already tell my wife’s wish but I never tell my
wish. That’s quite true. Tell me your wish. I want my wife back and she need to be
happy forever. Okay, I already granted your wish you can go for now. He went to the
palace. But instead of a palace and a cottage there is a sack before this. His wife was
very happy holding the sack. Then, they live happily ever after. What I loved the most
in the story is the fact that the fisherman and his had two opposing characters one was
polite while the other was greedy. This book made me wonder about how I should be
thankful and grateful for what I have. Next I thought that, greediness can cause
megalomania that obsessive desire for power. What can be made better the
illustrations of the characters can be made better to look appealing. We should be
happy with what we have instead do not be greedy asking for more.
