WHAT IS TOPIC NOUN?

Topic Noun ลักษณะในการนำเสนอคือต้องเป็น คำนาม เพียงหนึ่งคำเท่านั้น โดยให้สังเกตว่าคำนามใดในเนื้อเรื่อง
ที่มีการพูดถึงบ่อยครั้งหรือมีความถี่สูงสุด นอกจากเราจะนับคำที่ใช้ซ้ำๆ กันแล้ว เรายังต้องนับตัว reference (คำที่
ใช้อ้างถึง) ที่หมายถึงคำนามนั้นรวมเข้าไปด้วย

WHAT IS TOPIC IDEA?

Topic Idea มีลักษณะการนำเสนอเป็น นามวลี (Noun Phrase) ชี้เฉพาะให้แคบลงลงไปว่า เป็นอะไร หรือด้านไหน
สำหรับเรื่องนั้นๆ
วิธีการหา Topic Idea อย่างง่ายๆ ก็คือ

หาคำนามในเนื้ อเรื่องที่มีความถี่สูงสุด
หากริยาหรือคำคุณศัพท์ที่มีความถี่สูงสุด
เอา 1) กับ 2) มารวมกัน*

*ต้องแปลง verb หรือ adjective นั้นเป็นคำนามก่อนจึงค่อยเอามารวมกัน

WHAT IS TOPIC SENTENCE?

Topic Sentence ประโยคหลัก หรือ ประโยคสำคัญที่สุดในแต่ละย่อหน้าซึ่งบรรจุหัวเรื่องและใจความสำคัญไว้
เมื่อเราอ่านแล้วจะทราบได้ทันทีว่าย่อหน้านี้บอกเรื่องอะไรจากบทอ่าน ส่วนใหญ่มักวางไว้ที่ประโยคแรกๆ หรือ
ประโยคสุดท้ายของข้อความมีเพียงส่วนน้อยที่อยู่ตอนกลางของเรื่อง

WHAT IS MAIN IDEA?

Main Idea ใจความสำคัญหรือใจความหลักของเรื่อง ซึ่งเป็นส่วนสำคัญที่สุดของเรื่อง ซึ่งเป็นส่วนที่ครอบคลุมและควบคุมเรื่องนั้นๆ
กล่าวคือ ในแต่ละย่อหน้าต้องมี main idea เพียงอันเดียว และถ้าเมื่อขาด main idea ไปแล้ว จะทำให้ไม่เกิดเนื้อเรื่องต่างๆ ขึ้น หรือ

ทำให้ไม่ทราบจุดประสงค์เรื่องนั้นๆ แล้วทำให้เกิดความเข้าใจคลาดเคลื่อนได้

Main Idea มี 2 ชนิด

State main idea : หลักใหญ่ใจความที่สำคัญที่สุดของเรื่อง ซึ่งผู้เขียนบอกมาตรง ๆ
สามารถครอบคลุมเนื้ อหาของเรื่องได้ทั้งหมด

Implied main idea : การกล่าวถึง main idea ในลักษณะที่ผู้เขียนไม่ได้เอ่ยมาตรง ๆ
แต่แสดงนัยให้เห็นเท่านั้น ผู้อ่านต้องวินิฉัยเอาเองเพื่อให้เห็นได้ชัด

it so you can grow tall and feel good. The best part about healthy food is that it is
tasty! You can find grains in bread, rice, and oatmeal. You should eat four servings of
grains every day. Milk, cheese, and yogurt are also important. These will give you
strong bones. Meat, beans, fish, and nuts give your body iron and protein. You can
also eat an egg or some peanut butter to help keep your body healthy. Fruit and
vegetables are good to eat. Eat many kinds each week. Chips and cookies are tasty,
but eat only a few at a time.When you eat healthy food, your body will thank you!

Animals feature a lot in superstitions around the world. One ancient British
superstition holds that if a child rides on a bear's back, it will be protected from
whooping-cough. It is said to be unlucky if you see bats flying and hear their cries.
In the middle ages it was believed that witches were closely associated with bats.
If a sparrow enters a house, it is an omen of death to one of the people who live there.
In some areas it is believed that to avoid bad luck, any sparrow caught must be
immediately killed, otherwise the person who caught it will die. In some areas black
rabbits are thought to host the souls of human beings.White rabbits are said to be
really witches and some believe that saying 'White Rabbit' on the first day of each
month brings luck. Furthermore, a common lucky charm is a rabbit's foot, but not for
the rabbit.
