to make the most of their summer.”

With the offering of various sports, kids have a wide variety to

choose from. The camps will be held at two different locations.

The camps in Kingstree will be held at the Recreation

Department located at 2084 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Kingstree,

Letter from the Director

It’s been a great pleasure to serve as the Williamsburg County Parks and Recreation Department

Director for the last three years. When I took on this role my goals were to rebrand and refocus the

department while continuing to provide recreational services, expand educational programs for our

citizens and increasing community involvement. To date, I’ve faced many challenges, made many

adjustments and faced mistakes of my own. All of many, this is what I have accepted and as long as I’m

provided the opportunity to serve in this capacity I will continue to strive with faith, hope and courage.

It’s my aim to positively impact our community through strong partnerships and thoughtful
investments in the lives of the citizens we serve.

I’m thankful for my current staff that I have the pleasure of working aside. They are dedicated to

improving the lives of individuals and families by providing life skills sessions, sports programs, the

implementation of outdoor education, special events, community outreach and healthy lifestyle

programs to ensure ongoing success. In this field, you tend to work long hours with limited resources;

however, when you have the passion to improve the lives of others, you keep pushing. I personally

would like to thank the families of my staff for being their biggest supporters and helping out as

volunteers when time allows.

We are making enhancements to our parks to provide an ideal space for gatherings both impromptu

and planned. We look forward to seeing parks once again host family/neighborhood picnics, outdoor

movies, concerts/festivals, camps, sporting events, fundraisers, volunteer projects and many other

cultural events. As our community becomes more diverse, parks can help provide common ground, a

sense of community involvement, a place to meet neighbors, and make new friends while engaging

outdoors.

Humbly, I thank God for the strength given to endure this race as the Williamsburg County Parks and

Recreation Director. My passion is the community; striving to help make a difference is my ultimate

goal. I personally thank my family and especially my mother for standing by my side every step of the

way on this journey. For we don’t know what tomorrow brings, but while I have the chance it’s my

desire to leave a mark that others can follow.

As my staff hear me say often, “You’re in the Game or Watching from the Sideline!” We ask that you

consider joining us in the game to improve recreational activities, help keep our community parks

clean, volunteer, attend and promote our community events on social media. As we implement new

projects, we ask for your support as we change the culture of Parks and Recreation for Williamsburg

County.

It’s been a pleasure serving you and we look forward to greater things happening in Williamsburg

County with Parks and Recreation.

Many Blessings to each of you!
