Mentor-Mentee Program (Culinary Showcase)An initiative under the banner of the Mentor-Mentee Program, was designed to enrich the experience of our interns and provide them with a stage where they can showcase their talents and shine. We wanted to give our interns an early insight into the industry and prepare them for their future roles by teaching them the fundamentals of running a restaurant and mounting a dining event. While our hotel regularly offers internship programs, the Mentor-Mentee Program offered a more in-depth experience, and we opened the slots to interested students who were currently onboard our internship program. The intensive training and mentorship included different disciplines and specializations, including menu development, creating a market list, costing, cooking and presentation, booking management, guest engagement, service, and more. Each intern is assigned a role and responsibility in the planning and execution. These include leadership roles such as Executive and Sous Chefs, restaurant managers, bar manager, and more. The charity dinner, prepared and hosted by the interns, marked the completion of the program, putting weeks of intensive skills training into action. It featured a 7-course degustation inspired by 7 continents and presented with a modern twist. Proceeds were given to the Save the Children Foundation.
