A dolphin pod is a group of dolphins.
the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance
or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects.
a small toothed whale with a low triangular dorsal fin and a blunt
rounded snout.

People think that dolphins are boring animals, but the truth is that dolphins are
amazing creatures. They are mammals just like us humans. Dolphins also travel in p ods
that have forty members in it. They are friendly and love to hang out with animals and
people. Dolphins usually eat fish, crustaceans, and dolphins.People think that dolphins are
just cute but no they are more than that. Dolphins are claimed to be one of the most
intelligent creatures on Earth. One way that they are smart is because of the
echolocation that they use to communicate with each other, and they use it to find
their food. For example, when a dolphin is looking for its food it will make a noise and
the noise will locate where the food is. After the sound travels, it bounces off the food
and bounces back to the dolphin, and then they know their food is located. Another way
that shows that dolphins are smart is that each dolphin has its own and unique sound,
but that's not the best part. The best part is that when a dolphin meets another
dolphin they remember each other's sound. It was scientifically proven that happens by
scientists testing it out. Dolphins are very creative and interesting animals that humans
could learn from. It's not just that but whenever you want to be with a dolphin, you are
welcome because of their kindness and passion for loving and caring.

Are you wondering what a life cycle of a dolphin is and how their life
goes? If you are wondering I have the answer. First, female dolphins give birth
to the baby dolphin and at that moment they know how to swim. Also, the
babies are nursed for one and half to two years just like human babies.
Secondly, once the babies are weaned and turn six months old they start
eating seafood which consists of fish and crustaceans which then they join
the pod. Which is a group of forty members of dolphins. They swim and hunt
together. Then, when the dolphins reach to puberty which is at age 3-8 years
they start to look for a mate at mating season which is in autumn and lasts
for one year. After they find a mate they have a baby together. Then the calf
starts growing and the dolphin will stay alive for about 30 years if it doesn't
get killed by humans.

Do you get confused between a dolphin and a porpoise? If you are
confused, I have the answer so you don't get confused anymore. First,is the
similarities. Dolphins and porpoises are both mammals and they both eat fish
and squid. Another thing that the mammals have in common are that they both
live in pods and they both use echolocation. Also, dolphins and porpoises are
both very intelligent and have large complex brains. Next, there is the
differences between dolphins and porpoises. First, porpoises have shorter
beaks, and they have flattened spade-shaped teeth. On the other hand,
dolphins have prominent ,elongated, beaks and cone shaped teeth. Secondly,
porpoises have triangular shaped dorsal fins, while dolphins have curved dorsal
fins. Then, dolphins are more social and talkative than porpoises, and dolphins
use whistling sounds and porpoises don't because they can't because of their
blowholes. Finally, dolphins have 32 species and 5 species of river dolphins,
while porpoises have only 6 species. So now you know the similarities and
differences between dolphins and porpoises.

Do you think that dolphins are safe animals and are okay? If you are,
you are wrong. Dolphins are actually in danger because of the pollution around
them and people being lazy so they throw trash in the ocean. The first way
dolphins get polluted is that when fisherman fish the oil and gas on the ship go
into the ocean, and that causes the ocean to start getting polluted and dirty.
If the water gets dirty they might have to move, and if they stay in the water
some of them could die. Secondly, dolphins could get polluted if you put trash
in the ocean. They could get polluted that way because if they think it is
food, they will eat it and they could choke or if it is severe they could
die. Finally, dolphins could get polluted if their food is polluted and if they eat it
they could get very sick or die. So if you really care about dolphins try to help
like not throwing trash in the beach.

Do you think your tuna is just coming from the fish tuna? If you are,
you are wrong because some dolphins are accidentally getting turned into
tuna. The problem is that the fisherman go to fish and then they either
accidentally get the dolphins caught in the net. Or the fisherman catch the
dolphins on purpose. Dolphins are getting endangered because of the
fisherman catching them with the net with the other fish. The problem is that
when the fisherman actually realize that a dolphin is caught in the net, the
dolphin is dead because it's not in the water and at that time it's too late.
The solution to this problem is that people should start buying dolphin-free
tuna. Also another solution is that the fisherman should start watching where
the dolphins are. Another solution, is that the fisherman should start watching
where the dolphins swim and when they´re sure that dolphins aren't swimming
there then they could start getting fish. If people ignore it dolphins could
become extinct. So if people think, they could help a lot of dolphins.

I am a sixth grader and a dolphin lover myself. She likes the color blue.
When she grows up she wants to be a doctor. Some of my favorite things to
do is to read and to do gymnastics. I also speak Arabic and she is Moroccan.
She goes to Arabic School to memorize the Quran, read and write arabic, and
learn about her religion.
