Before she gets
the jacket, the
principal told
her that she has
to pay $15 for

the jacket,

even though the

jacket was free.

If Martha was not able to
buy the jacket, then

will get the jacket because
of her good grades.

Martha was
walking home,
and she had so

and asked,

“Grandpa, the principal said

that The Scholarship Jacket is

not going to be free and I would

Otherwise he’s going to give it

the jacket to someone else.”

But her
Grandfather

replied to
her,

“Is the jacket even worth

it if it needs to be paid

for?”

She cried and cried
because she knew
that she could not

buy the jacket
