About Department

Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the most
popular engineering branches out there amongst the Indian
engineering aspirants. Even electronics and communication
engineering is the major driving force for the present day
information technology (IT) revolution. Electronics and
Communication engineering has also penetrated into other areas
such as healthcare, instrumentation, automation, remote sensing
and signal processing.

engineers: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronic Corporation of
India Limited (ECIL) Intel, Samsung Electronics, Sony, Toshiba, Philips

Project Robot No. 1
Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport Indore

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, along
with the FCA department developed a humanoid robot installed at
Indore Airport “ First robot placed at any airport of India to assist the
passengers.”

Project Based Learning System

In the department, II, III and IV year students are working on real life
projects. Students developed the project such as humanoid robot,
drone, 3-D printer, foldable E-cycle, automatic pollution controller,
hexapod using aruduino, save our souls, solar tracking system , voice
control home automation, gesture based wheel chair, smart dustbin,
dronacharya.

Industrial Interaction

Under the industry interaction, the department established collaboration
with Sahasra Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Nivo Controls Pvt. Ltd., & Bioline,
Scientech Technologies. Department is academic partner of Microchip
and also started University program of reputed company Texas
Instrumentation. Reputed E-Yantra project of IIT Powai is also
established in the department.

Skill Development Cell (SDC)

Inspired by the Skill India Mission of the Govt. of India, the department
has developed a skill development cell that works professionally to
bridge the gap between industry and academia.

Singh, Superintendent of Police, State Cyber Cell Zone, Indore.

Students’ Achievements

Under the guidance of the faculty members, the students have
presented research papers in reputed International conferences and
showed outstanding performance in robotics competitions some of
them are mentioned below:

Research papers

• Jay Chandwani of EC-III year presented a paper “On chip CMOS
inverter design technique with low power and fast settling time.

• Ankit Chandachoriya, Shubham Chourasia, Pooja Nangyani,
Archana Devdhar & Tanmay Bhagwat, they were selected for oral
presentation in IEEE Technovation paper/Model contest at
Poornima University Jaipur got Best paper award.

• Apoorav Thakuria, Dhruv Yadav, Mohan Patidar & Dipendar Singh
Gehlot completed the certified course in Python from the
University of Michigan.

Robotics

• The team name was NAVYANTRAM by geeks of the Electronic and the
Mechanical Engineering departments. Talented team members were
Suyash Verma, Yogesh Katare and Siddhant Singh Thakur.

• IIIT Delhi (National level) - 1st prize.
• BITS Hyderabad (National level) - 1st and 2nd prize.
• IIT Kharaghpur - 3rd prize.
• BITS Goa (Pilani Campus) (state level) - 1st prize.
• Ahateshamuddin Hashmi developed industry level research &

development solutions on Robotics & Automation.
• Pratik Nigam & Shivam Tiwari Filed a patent of biometric

fingerprint-reliant two-wheeler automobile ignition control with one
button setup made in a way to provide an ease in case of losing key.
