Grand Cayman

Living up to its name in every sense, Grand Cayman fuses arts
with culture and nature with wonder, to produce the perfect
atmosphere. On the west side of the island is award-winning
Seven Mile Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of sand with
crystal clear waters. The North Sound is home to a
neighborhood of stingrays that’s so massive, the locals call it a
city. Come face to face with the inhabitants of Stingray City and
you’ll leave grinning from ear to ear.

Off the beaches of Grand Cayman, you can lose yourself in the
luxury of George Town, surrounded by traditional architecture
and modern treats. Enjoy duty-free shopping for signature
brands such as Versace, Tiffany, and Gucci. Or meet native
vendors and craftsmen who are always happy to help you find
that unique gift. Either way, this is the spot for both global and
local treasures.

Across the island, the eastern districts of Grand Cayman
feature outdoor delights like the rare Blue Iguanas of Queen
Elizabeth II Botanic Park. And be sure to stop and taste the
freshly caught fish at nearby restaurants when you’re out this
way. After all, the flavors are second only to the tales told here.

And, of course, no trip to Grand Cayman is complete without a
little expedition to these must-see favorites:

▪ National Museum of the Cayman Islands – Immerse
yourself in the island’s natural and cultural history.

▪ Rum Point – Curl up in the shade of the Casuarina trees.
▪ Pedro St. James –

Grand Cayman’s
oldest building and
best view.
▪ Turtle Centre – It’s
easy to become fast
friends with these
slowpokes.

ARTS & CULTURE: Grand Cayman enjoys a vibrant art scene
with over 250 practicing artists, seven commercial galleries, a
National Gallery with a permanent art collection, several
publicly accessible artist studios, and many more exhibition
spaces hosted in restaurants and cafes across the island.

Architecture in Cayman is an art unto itself, with some
structures taking stylistic cues from the Old World. Through
the local carpentry and stonework, the buildings of the
Cayman Islands have grown right alongside their population.

CULINARY CULTURE: Welcome to the culinary capital of the
Caribbean! Sitting down at the tables of the Cayman Islands,
it’s easy to understand how it earned its name. Add the
authentic local flavors of the islands to the mix, sprinkle in
some seafood shacks and five-star restaurants, and you have
everything you need for a foodie’s dream vacation.

CLIMATE: Grand Cayman is truly a tropical destination with
daytime temperatures averaging 84° and evening
temperatures averaging 73°.

TIME ZONE: Grand Cayman is in the Eastern Zone.

CURRENCY: The Cayman Islands dollar is the official currency
of the Cayman Islands, although U.S. dollars are readily
accepted everywhere. The current exchange rate CI $1 = US
$1.20. NOTE: The exchange rate is subject to change.

EXCITING EXCURSIONS: There is so much to see and do in
Grand Cayman, both on land and in the
depths of the blue sea. You can take
a jeep excursion around the island,
explore the ocean in a submarine,
shop in designer stores, or play a
round of golf with stunning vistas.
A Red Sail representative will be
available daily at the Converge
Hospitality Desk and can assist you
in signing up for excursions.

RESTAURANTS
Experience fresh local seafood and
produce infused into coastal
Mediterranean recipes at Ave. Chef
Massimo De Francesca has crafted
an approachable menu perfectly
paired with handmade cocktails
that are sure to appeal to the most
sophisticated palate.

The food is delicious, and the views are equally compelling. At
24 feet above sea level, Ave overlooks Seven Mile Beach, with
seating indoors and on the outdoor terrace. The interior
design is open, airy, and inviting, with a casual, community
vibe that makes you feel welcome before your first bite.

Nestled inside Ave restaurant, Avecita is Kimpton Seafire
Resort’s signature dinner-only venue; a theatrical culinary
experience showcasing Spanish tapas-inspired dishes. Choose
from two distinct dining experiences. For an up close and

personal experience, claim your
spot at the chef’s counter. Or,
communal dining encourages
you to be social so take a seat,
you never know who you’ll
meet. Whether you are seated
at the Chef's Counter or at the
communal tables, Avecita is a
culinary memory you'll take
home as a souvenir.

In the mood for a margarita and ceviche with a side of ocean
breezes? Say hola to Coccoloba, a mash-up of local culinary
influences and coastal Mexico. Here on Grand Cayman, it’s
rare to find a restaurant situated in the sand — and yet there
you are in your swimsuit sipping tequila and snacking on the
best guacamole you've ever had, watching waves gently crash
onto Seven Mile Beach. It has that casual flair you wish every
place had, and when we amp up the music at sundown, don’t
be surprised if you feel like dancing on the beach.

Grab snacks and drinks at the Seafire Pantry: The baristas are
up early to hand craft your favorite espresso drink whether
you like it steaming hot, over ice or blended with a little extra
flavor. If you’re looking for an afternoon refresher, enjoy one
of our local Kombuchas on tap or indulge in a house made ice
cream bar. Located just off the lobby, The Pantry at Seafire will
keep you on the go all day with specialty sandwiches, salads,
and refreshing beverages.

Breakfast with the Rays

Sunday morning, we will embark on one of the most awe-
inspiring wildlife encounters in the Caribbean! Once onboard
our private catamarans, we will enjoy a light continental
breakfast as we make our way to the Stingray City Sandbar.
Can’t swim? No worries! The sandbar is located in waist-deep
crystal clear water. You can hang out with, touch and feed the
beautiful stingrays that make their home around the sandbar.
Over the years, as returning fishermen anchored at the
sandbar to clean the daily catch, the native Southern Stingrays
in the surrounding area grew accustomed to an easy dinner
and began to hang out at the sandbar. Nurtured firstly with
fishing scraps and now with daily feeding by visitors, the
stingray population has thrived and grown to over one
hundred and twenty. Multiple generations of these gentle
stingrays have lived on the sandbar from birth and welcome
the feeding and interaction with visitors.
Following our visit with the rays, we will head over to a nearby
swimming area swarming with brightly colored fish and coral.
You can choose to do some snorkeling or simply kick back and
bask in the sunshine as you sip on a tropical cocktail!

12 | P a g e

We will return to the resort before 1 PM so that you can enjoy
a leisurely lunch and a free afternoon. We will provide you
with use of the resort’s towels and reef-friendly sunblock for
this excursion. A grab-and-go coffee station will also be
available.
WHAT TO BRING: Boat shoes, sneakers or sandals, sunglasses,
binoculars, a camera (or your smart phone). We recommend
you wear comfortable clothing (casual pants, shorts or a cover-
up).

for our favorite team to win the

We will kick off our evening at 6 PM with hors d’oeuvres and
cocktails on the Beach Deck as the sun touches down on the
Atlantic Ocean. Our private Super Bowl viewing party will be
live-streamed on the Kimpton’s version of an island
jumbotron.

Delicious, mouth-watering island cuisine will be served at 7 PM
followed by our recognition presentation halftime show.
