Describe How Helping at Home Develops Your Character

Helping at house can build positive and powerful
character. Actionable character-building at house can
be created by introducing proper manners from parents
like leading by example and giving children
responsibility around the house that will help develop
positive value in a way the young children can
understand (Wheeler, 2017). Nowadays, we can see that sous of the children from the family
more depends to their parents or maids to complete all the chores at their house. The chores
include tidying up the rooms, sweeping the floor, cooking, laundry jobs and others. Indeed, Allah
had instructed children to help and act kindly with their parents (The Quran, 2010, 17:23). Actually,
helping at house is a good and best thing to do in order to be an excellent human beings. Helping
our family will produce good attitudes from our soul without us noticing that. The good characters
that have been born from ourselves not only give advantages for our family but also give
thousands of benefits to the society if we help them in certain things. So, helping at house can
create a person to gain knowledge, be a discipline student and independent person.

A person who helps doing house chores will be able to gain
knowledge. Sharing the knowledge with friends will benefit us.
Cooking helps us to gain knowledge by knowing how to cook healthy
dishes. Then, we can apply the knowledge that we gain from cooking
session in life. For example, we will never put a lot of salt in the food
because saltiness can cause high blood pressure. Additionally,
helping our mother in sewing make us gain knowledge on how to be

patient to do difficult works. For example, we will be patient to sew the
clothes when the stitching of that clothes loose, the shirt button separated from their places and
others because that works require careful works, if not, the stitch result will be untidy and the
stitches become impermanent. Then, we can apply that precious character which is the patience
when we are working as teacher in future where we must confront variety of behavior from our
students like the students who refuse to complete the homework and do not focus in class. By
high patience, the teacher will never lose patience to face the
students who behave in such way that will tend us to hit the
student that can lead to injury until eventually the career will also
be pulled just because of the patience loss. Thus, clearly that
helping at home can make us gain knowledge on how to cook
healthy dishes and be patient to do difficult works.

Helping doing chores can create a person to be a discipline
person. All the rules at home authorities will easily followed by
us. As an example, helping mother in washing clothes will make
us as discipline person when we follow and obey the right time
to wash and dry the clothes. Washing the clothes must be done
in early morning so that the clothes will dry in the evening and

we can fold them on night. Then, we can apply the discipline in
school by following all the rules set by school authorities with solid discipline like attend early in
school programs and not throw rubbish anywhere we want. Moreover, helping our mother at home
in cooking make us as discipline person when we never procrastinate to cook the dishes. For
example, cooking in Ramadan will make us to be punctual in prepare the dishes before azan.
Then, in our real life, we will settle all the assignments given by lecturer on the right time or before
due date because we do not delay or procrastinate that work. As
the impact, our work will be more organized and quality.
Therefore, undeniably that helping doing chores can create a
discipline person in following all the rules and never procrastinate
to do some works given.

Helping at home can create us to become an independent
person. Independent person means a person that can do the
work on themselves. Cooking makes us as the independent
person when we are able to make our own decision in handle
the kitchen when our mother sick. For instance, we do not
need our mother on what to cook, where to keep the fishes
after we clean them or how many to cook for each dish and so on. Then, in real life, we can make
our own decision whether we want to continue our study in form 6, college, Institute of Teacher
Education (IPG) or university because we must determine our own future and not other.
Furthermore, helping our mother in cooking also make us as the independent person when we
are able to make our own choice to choose which menu to prepare on the day when our mother
are not at home. For example, choosing Red-cooked Chicken as the menu to prepare for our
siblings when there are too many choices to cook because in the fridge, there are chicken, fishes,
prawn and clams. So, in our real life outside home, we will be able to make our own decisions in
making friends, partners and good or bad things to do.
Therefore, obviously that helping at home can create us to
become the independent person in making our own decision
and choice without depend on others.

As a conclusion, cannot be denied that helping at house can
develop our characters. Helping at house can create us to
because a knowledgeable, discipline and independent
person. Knowledge is very important today in order to
protect ourself from the fraudsters who always trying to
find opportunity to get money from their victims. Besides,

discipline is also necessary in life order to achieve and
maintain the best image of ourselves, family, religion and society as well as the country. Lastly,
independent is valuable to make us independent in carrying out challenging daily lives without
expecting help from others. As the end of the word, it is the responsibility of parents in particular
to educate their children from an early age to do chores at house that can build a noble character
from within them.
