A Mysterious Box

A Mysterious Box

A Mysterious Box

By Lydia Dunkle

Hi, I’m Lizzie. I travel in my box
to different places. Where I go is my
choice.

My big blue box
matches the rest of
my room, which has
every shade of blue

possible.

Oh my, it’s 12
o’clock!!! Time for
another adventure!

Mommy opens my door, and says “Nap time!”. She picked me up
and put me on my turquoise bed. She kisses my forehead, and says
“goodnight”.

After she closes the
door, I jump off my bed,
barely managing to hurt
myself, and run over to my
box and jump in.

Where should I go
today? How about the dino
age? Ok.

My tummy squishes
and squashes, and
twists and turns. My
head hurts, and my
heart may be in a
different place now.

But it was worth it when I push the flap up and
find myself in a nest next to 3 giant eggs. I look
around and see so many dinos I can’t count them all,
even though I can only count to 30. Can you?

I get up and slide down
the tree, and walk over to a
dino. I wave hi, but next thing I
know, I’m on his back, and the
wind is in my hair.

We travel for miles before we go back to where I
came from. We talked forever about how our lives
are, and we became great friends.

When it was time to say
goodbye, I waved, and got back
in my box. I went through the
same process to get there, and
I was finally back home.

Later, when my
mom came to
check on me, I
was safe and
sound in my
bed. She didn’t
know a thing.

Tomorrow is another adventure.
See you then!!!

THE END
