LIFELINES

NEWS UPDATE - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Gift of Life & Hope

The past year has been a whirlwind for our client,
Lakeisha. An unexpected pregnancy complicated by
the pandemic rocked her world and tested her
typically strong Christian faith. When she reached out
to PAC last spring, much of the world was on
lockdown and personal connection was a rare
commodity. Time was of the essence for Lakeisha.
She needed a partner to vet her options – and fast.
Thanks to our new tele-health tool, PAC Advocate
Nancy Vargas quickly connected with Lakeisha,
allowing her to talk through her feelings. She was
confused, depressed, and overwhelmed by the
challenges of raising two adolescent daughters. Her
relationship was broken and so was she. “I’m scared
to start all over and don't feel like I’m ready to have another baby,” she said. Nancy invited Lakeisha to pray. Lakeisha
listened to Nancy’s words of encouragement. She also agreed to come into the clinic where she received more
services and advocacy from our Director of Client Care, Michele Griner. Over time, Lakeisha grew in confidence as a
parent. She gave birth to Rilee Grace on Thanksgiving Day, 2020. One small move in another direction could have
ended Rilee’s life. Thanks to God, our donors, our supportive community, and innovate tools, women like Lakeisha are
turning around their lives. Together, we will continue to build a culture of life in 2021!

FEATURED IN THIS ISSUE: 2020 DONOR IMPACT REPORT INSERT pg. 5-8

From the desk of Lisa Regan,
PAC Executive Director

Dear Friends,

Through the din of our daily lives, the Word of God resounds. It resonates high
above media noise, lifts us through COVID fatigue, and strengthens families who
need just one small miracle to make it to the next paycheck. It’s not always easy
to trust in the Lord, particularly in the midst of chaos. Lakeisha, our client
featured in this newsletter, is one of countless families served at the clinic who
inspire us to lean on God always - in both hardship and joy. They are our
heroes. These brave women and men have heard and answered the voice of
God, making the choice of life. Our role together is to clear the decks for God’s
work, removing obstacles to the protection of life. And then - we celebrate the
heroes who embrace the call, no matter the hand life has dealt them.

Friends, it has been far too long since we have had a chance to meet face-to-face. We look forward to seeing
you in 2021, starting with our “Give Families a Shot” golf event on May 10. We promise a day of safe and
healthy celebration, in honor of our client “heroes” and your work to build a culture of life.
I hope to see you there.

For Life,

"There is no fear in love,
but perfect love drives out fear
because fear has to do with punishment,
and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.

We love because
he first loved us."

1 John 4:18-19

Bringing the
Joy of Christmas to Clients

Making Christmas celebrations possible

This past year in particular, we saw a lot of clients who needed
social service referrals to help them through the losses that
the pandemic brought their way. Among those that came to
their aid were St. Andrew Catholic Church and St. Vincent de
Paul Society. They included some of our clients in need in their
holiday gift and food basket program. Clients were overjoyed
to receive this expression of love.

K continues to participate
in the PAC education
program life-skills classes,
mentoring and resources
even as her son is three
years old.

Both K & C are truly part of
our PAC family.

Nothing says "Christmas" like a precious newborn child

When we first met PAC Client T, she was being pressured to
abort by her mother. She attended counseling to process
her pregnancy and address her relationship with her
mother. Client T has since moved in with her grandmother,
who is supportive, and shared she is "doing well" and is glad
she “stepped up” and chose to parent. Through the PAC
education program she indicated she learned a lot about
caring for her body and parenting.

Baby "A" was born on December 17, 2020 - what a gift!

Classes Moved Online 2020 YEAR
PAC evidence-based parenting courses and spiritual IN NUMBERS
parenting courses were quickly reformatted to work in a
virtual environment. In 2020, PAC also added Spanish
speaking classes and supplemental mini courses to the
schedule. And with the introduction of the PAC
Classroom YouTube channel, busy moms were afforded
some flexibility to learn important parenting practices in
their own time.

PAC classes are open to anyone in the community.
Because they were virtual, PAC even saw several out-of-
state parents looking for support. All were welcomed to
the PAC family.
