L I F E L I N E S N E W S U P D A T E - S U M M E R 2 0 2 3 A woman we'll call Tanisha came to PAC feeling nervous and in disbelief about possibly being pregnant. This was her first pregnancy, and she didn't know what to expect. Although she had discussed having children in the future with her boyfriend, they weren’t prepared for parenting unexpectedly. After several positive home pregnancy tests, Tanisha scheduled an appointment at PAC for a pregnancy confirmation. Tanisha found the environment at PAC relaxing and quickly bonded with her advocate, Brittany. She felt at ease and was able to share her fear of being a young mom and managing parenthood, work, school, relationships, and life in general. Brittany prayed with Tanisha and assured her that God would guide and provide, as only He can. Tanisha said her fears were further calmed when the ultrasound tech, Judith, did her ultrasound and confirmed the pregnancy. She said she "felt like a mom" immediately after seeing her baby. Tanisha was able to choose beautiful baby items that were donated to PAC, including a blanket and a beautiful little girl's outfit. Tanisha said, "I just KNOW I'm having a little girl!" #mommysintuition. Tanisha and her boyfriend immediately signed up for PAC's parenting classes, earning diapers, wipes, and boutique points long before their daughter arrived in June. Her advocate walked her through the many resources available for parents-to-be, guided her in registering for services, and helped prepare the couple for the responsibility of parenting. Tanisha said she is "so thankful for PAC being there for me and my baby!" I just KNOW I'm having a little girl!

up 13% 225 minds changed in 2023! From the desk of Lisa Regan, PAC Executive Director Lisa Regan Executive Director Women need answers sooner. Our aggressive digital outreach offers early pregnancy testing, inviting women into option discussions just a few weeks into their pregnancy. We’re now one year past the Supreme Court’s decision to reverse the decadeslong Roe v. Wade ruling, which normalized abortion in this country. All glory to God, lives are saved with abortion restrictions. Yet there is still so much work to do. While evil tries to divide and tear down, our life-affirming work unifies and lifts up families. With your help, we create a culture of life, revealing dignity and building strength to transform generations. Here’s a snapshot of our post-Roe clinic work: Confusion over chemical abortion can put pregnant women at risk. Abortion education is more important than ever. Abortion is still accessible. PAC continues to see a rise in the number of vulnerable women seeking options and support. Stress levels are rising. Unexpected pregnancy is triggering panic for some of our clients. Our role is to help them see hope through tangible support and reveal that the baby in the womb is not the source of the crisis. With more families needing material help to support life, PAC is in overdrive. Through our Year of Hope social service pilot program, we have case-managed more than 50 families. About half of those families have received direct financial support to avoid eviction, facilitate employment, and stabilize their environment. Take a look at our mid-year report below to see how your support is being put to work more fully to save lives and change generations of families. Truly, you are building a legacy! We are forever grateful. PATH Offers Rachel’s VineyardHealing Retreats Healing the Pain of Abortion By Liz Youngs, Program Director If you or someone you know would like more information about PATH and its healing programs, or if you’d like to get involved with our ministry, please call 404-717-5557 or visit our website at www.healingafterabortion.org. All communications with PATH are completely confidential. Many people whose lives have been affected by abortion experience feelings of immense shame, sadness, depression, anxiety, guilt, and fear. These emotions may surface soon after the abortion or years later. This is true not only for the woman who has had an abortion but also for the father of the unborn child, siblings, grandparents, close friends, and even medical personnel. According to Support After Abortion, nine out of 10 people do not know that healing exists after abortion. PATH understands the emotional and spiritual pain following an abortion experience and offers hope and healing in many different forms, from a listening ear on the phone to a full 3-day retreat. We meet our clients where they are, with an invitation to experience therapy for the soul in a profound way. It’s never too late to seek healing and experience God’s unending mercy. May the peace of Christ be with you! Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats are 3-day weekend retreats, open to anyone affected by their own abortion or by someone else’s. In early June, PATH held its third retreat this year, during which mothers and fathers were able to grieve the losses of their babies, honoring and memorializing 27 precious souls. Release Shame, Harvest Joy Pregnancy Aid Clinic and St. Andrew Catholic Church are honored to host a presentation and discussion entitled: ...the most impactful thing about the retreat was being walked through the process of forgiving myself and believing that I am forgiven -Rachel’s Vineyard Retreatant Thursday, October 19 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Roswell For more information contact Lisa Regan at [email protected] Healing after Abortion Grief, Mercy and Healing: Real Stories of Abortion Loss

Running and biking for PAC Missionaries Bike across the country in Support of Life! PAC is blessed to have the support of a national pro-life organization that directly supports and funds our lifeaffirming work, donating over $23K to PAC since 2014. Biking for Babies (B4B), a non-profit that has been around for 13 years, envisions a society that embraces the immeasurable worth of every human life. Over the years, B4B has supported 102 pregnancy resource centers around the country and donated $1.26M to help women and families choose life. 184 young adults have pedaled nearly 31,000 miles over the years to raise these funds. PAC’s 2023 missionary, Lauren Woelffer, supported the ninemember Michigan route team in July, which pedaled 659 miles in 6 days from Michigan to Missouri. Please continue donating to help Lauren meet her goal of $5K; she is almost 60% there! To donate to Lauren’s race, please visit: https://www.bikingforbabies.com/missionary/lauren-woelffer PAC’s 2023 missionary, Lauren Woelffer Sarah Rocko Runs for PAC Sarah Rocko went for a run one Sunday evening. She timed her run to end at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Smyrna so she could attend the last Mass of the weekend. While sitting in the back of the church, she listened to a PAC representative speak at the pulpit about the need to protect pregnant women and families. She was motivated by this talk to turn her love of running into a fundraiser to support life. Thanks to Sarah’s generous friends and family, she has raised almost $3,000 for PAC. We are incredibly grateful to Sarah and all our donors! Sarah Rocko (center) visited the Roswell clinic and dropped off the donation she raised for PAC.

Year of Hope pilot program update PAC’s Year of Hope pilot program is off to an amazing start, thanks to our partnerships with St. Vincent de Paul and Catholic Charities. The Year of Hope is PAC’s commitment to our clients in most need during their pregnancy and the first few months of their child’s life. To-date, partner agencies have provided professional case management for more than 50 PAC clients; 20 of those have received direct funding totaling $25,000 for emergency housing, transportation and child care needs as well as mental health care. Your support is making a huge difference for these families! Life-Giving Tradition More than a decade of life giving support Thousands of lives have been saved due to more than a decade of support from The Order of Malta, Federal Association. PAC is blessed with yet another generous donation from the Atlanta Region Dames and Knights, collected from their April Casino night. This latest gift brings Malta’s total giving to $1.3 million since 2011. That first Malta gift afforded PAC the ability to become a medical clinic. Since then, more than 6,000 lifeaffirming ultrasounds have been provided to vulnerable pregnant women. Year ofHope Thank you Monsignor Edward Dillon! Special recognition to Monsignor Edward Dillon, the Chaplain of Malta and true warrior for life and champion of the Church. Monsignor retired from his 36-year post as pastor of Holy Spirit Church. He remains in his role as Malta Chaplain. We owe a great deal of thanks to Monsignor for his tireless efforts to support PAC and protect the sanctity of all life.
