TRANSFORMING AN ABORTION CLINIC INTO A PLACE OF HOPE AND HELP IS WORKING.
The past five months since moving into the Forest Park location, a former abortion clinic, we can see the grace of God and feel the Holy Spirit working on a daily basis.
Many women and men come in mistaking us for the abortion clinic 2 doors over. It gives us an opportunity to offer them our free services and talk to them about all of their options. So often abortion becomes the automatic go-to solution for unplanned pregnancies – you have a problem, so you get rid of the problem. However, we provide clients in a crisis situation a place to take a breath, think through the other options and remind them that just because a pregnancy is unplanned, doesn’t mean that it is not a blessing.
This was the case for client “B” that came to Forest Park looking for the previous abortion clinic. She was offered free services and spoke to one of our caring Client Advocates. The counseling uncovered that she was being pressured into terminating her baby by her boyfriend and was uncomfortable with the choice. Her boyfriend then joined the conversation and disagreed with her decision to
To the Advocate’s surprise, “B” decided to break off the relationship right then and there. She realized his heart was not in the right place for her and she no longer wanted or needed him in her life. As the volume level rose in the advocacy room, the boyfriend was escorted off the premises. “B” stayed at the clinic for some time to calm down and continue discussing her pregnancy.
When “B” felt comfortable enough to leave the clinic, she made her ultrasound appointment for the following week and her Advocate walked her to her car. Halfway through the exit, she turned around, said “God is in this place,” turned back around, got in her car and drove off.
This was probably the greatest compliment Pregnancy Aid Clinic has received, especially given this particular building’s past. Showing love and care to clients is always the goal and this client articulated it. God is most certainly in all 3 Pregnancy Aid Clinics. He is in the beautiful miracles that the clinics see every day. He is in the faces of the new babies that our clients proudly bring in after they are born. He is in the hearts of all our employees, donors and volunteers.
God is good. And God is undoubtedly here.

pro-life politics
New administration renews hope for Pro-Life issues.
Quotes below are from Vice President Pence’s uplifting speech at the Washington DC March for Life on January 27, 2017.
The most heated and polarizing issue of our time is surely the Pro-Life/Pro-Choice controversy. As Americans, we are split down the middle – 47% identify as Pro- Choice and 46% as Pro-Life. During our last election, many families reported internal arguments. Protests erupted and friendships were broken over this one issue. And forget facebook. That was a political nightmare where passionate debates turned into rude commentary, name-calling and pure hatred for the other perspective.
But we made it through the election! We have a new President, and it appears that he is supporting the life side of the issue. "I'm pro-life and I've been pro-life a long time,” states President Trump. He acknowledged that he had "evolved" on the issue given his comments in the past about being “very pro-choice.” This is inspiring for the pro- life community. And we are starting to see the actions that are resulting from his words.
Trump, in his first few days in office, signed an executive order reinstating the
Mexico City policy that requires all foreign non- governmental organizations that receive federal funding to refrain from performing or promoting abortion as a method of family planning.
The Susan B. Anthony List, an anti-abortion group, praised Trump's list of potential Supreme Court nominees as "exceptionally strong.” He stuck to his list and on Feb 1, 1917 nominated Judge Neil Gorsuch, a seemingly pro-life candidate.
He has also pledged to sign legislation from Congress banning abortion at the 20-week mark. He has promised to support legislation that would permanently establish the Hyde Amendment (bans the use of federal funds to pay for abortion, except in the case of rape, incest or severe health conditions of the mother). And his administration delivered their support during the “March for Life” with VP Pence’s strong words and inspiration on “march” day.
All positive promises and prospects, but it is our responsibility to hold this administration’s feet to the fire. We are the voice for the voiceless – the unborn. Let’s keep shouting on their behalf. Let’s make sure that they are not forgotten in a whirlwind of political issues.
Vice President Pence is the first VP in history to speak at the March for Life.
“Life is winning again in America. Passion is overcoming convenience, and hope is defeating despair.”
“I believe we will continue to win the hearts and minds of the rising generation if our hearts first break for young mothers and their unborn children. Each of us needs to do all we can to meet them where they are with generosity, not judgment.”
“To heal our land and restore a culture of life, we must continue to be a movement that embraces all, that cares for all and shows dignity and worth of every person.”
