‘CONSTAANTLY IN SERACH OF QUESTIONS, ANSWER ARE FOUND WITHIN’-
JMK

Personal principals of teaching
Every educator has their own principals in terms of teaching their students and giving them the
necessary knowledge. From them according their ability, to them according to needs. That is my
personal principal when it comes to being a teacher. Each and every student are different when it
comes to learning. The teacher has to know the strength and weaknesses of each of their student
and make teaching and learning a fun process. The students must feel free to ask their teachers
questions and clear their doubts, and teachers must be constantly in search of questions and finding
the answers must come from within.
Overall reflection about microteaching
During the course of learning this subject I have personally adapted to the blended learning of
having online and physical classes. This has taught us how to teach our students if we have to adapt
to blended teaching. Through our weekly activities and presentation, we have learned on how to
improvise ourself and learn through the mistakes. Each week we will have peer evaluation which
allows us to rectify and know what are things we should and shouldn’t do during lessons. Our
lecturer has also trained us to get used our lesson plans so that it would be something we are
familiar with as we will be going to schools for our practicum.
Weekly reflection
Week 1

Lecture: During the first week of the class, our lecturer briefed us about our assignments and
projects.
Tutorial: She also introduced to us the new format of our lesson plan. On how to implement all the
skills of the language.
Week 2

Lecture: Our lecturer taught us the importance of learning outcomes in our lesson plan. Learning
outcome helps us to design the whole plan and plan in according to what we want to achieve.
“SMART”. S- Specific, M-Measurable, A-Attainable, R-Relevant, T-Time Based.
Week 3

Lecture: Our class today focused more on the set induction and the strategies we can use for it.
Slides on it was shared by our lecturer and we were given task to complete. We were required to
create a set induction using the 4 given criteria. Upon completion we were required to submit it on
the padlet link given.
Tutorial: We were required to present our task that was given during our lecture. Our lecturer gave
us feedbacks based on our presentation.
Week 4

Lecture: The topic for this week was questioning technique. There were 10 techniques taught to us
by our lecturer. We were given task where we must create 6 questions using the blooms taxonomy
and present it during class.

Tutorial: During our tutorial class we presented our mock teaching video which was about set
induction. Aimi reviewed my video and gave me her feedbacks during class. I received good and
positive feedbacks for my mock teaching video. I was told that I connected well with my students
and had their attention throughout the set induction.
Week 5

Lecture: We presented the recording of our project 1 presentation during class and was given
feedbacks by our lecturer.
Tutorial: The presentation continued for the tutorial as well.
Week 6

Lecture: We were introduced to a new chapter today, chapter 6 which was Reinforcement
Strategies. There are 2 types for strategies that was focused on this chapter, which is the negative

and positive reinforcement. After our lecturer taught us about it, we were assigned as a group to
create an activity based on the 4 skills, which are (oral positive, non-verbal positive, oral negative
and non-verbal negative)
Tutorial: The presentation for the mock teaching continued
Week 7

Lecture: We had our first physical class. During class our lecturer taught us about chapter 4, the
stimulus variation. The type of factors there is to get the students attention. Intensity, contrast,
movement, audio visual aids and teachers’ personal behaviour we all part of it. Our lecturer called
some of us to present examples to the class on how to implement the varieties of stimulus in the
process of teaching and learning.

Tutorial: During our tutorial we presented our second mock teaching video which is about the
reinforcement strategies. Deepa reviewed my video and shared her feedback during class about how
I teach my students. I received positive feedbacks and our lecturer was happy with my lesson.
Week 8

Lecture: We submitted our Project 2 and presented it during class.
Tutorial: The presentation for the mock teaching continued.
Week 9
DEEPAVALI AND MID-SEM BREAK
Week 10

Lecture: We were given task to complete about teaching aids and told us to submit it on padlet. We
were required to come up with 5 examples of teaching aids which we can use for virtual classroom.

Tutorial: We were introduced to topic 7, which is teaching aids. This chapter is about the materials
we can use to help to with the teaching and learning processes. As an example, visual aids, audio
aids, and audio-visual aids.
Week 11

Lecture: We were introduced to topic 8, which was closure. This topic focuses on the importance,
purpose, and the right way to do a closure for a lesson.
Tutorial: Our lecturer assigned task for us and in groups we were required to list down the type of
teaching aids we can use for closure. We presented the task as group and was given feedback by our
lecturer.
Week 12

Lecture: Our lecturer posted some movie scenes on our class Whatsapp group. They were YouTube
links. The movies the scenes were taken from was, Harry Potter, Freedom Writers and Dead Poets
Society. We were required to do a critical review on the scenes and try to find the techniques used in
the classroom of the respective scenes.

Tutorial: We presented our third mock teaching video which is about the teaching aids and stimulus
variation. Deepa reviewed my video and gave me feedbacks on how I did and what I should change
in my lesson.

Week 13

Lecture: Today we learned about the usage of whiteboard in class, this was topic 9. We were taught
how to use the whiteboard properly and some of us were called in front of class to demonstrate how
we would use it in our own class when we are teaching.

Tutorial: Today we presented our last mock teaching video, which was about closure. Deepa
reviewed my video, and our lecturer gave her feedback as well.

PROJECT 1 REFLECTION (TASK A)

For our Project 1 (Task A), in a group of 5 members, we were required to choose one online teaching
tool and present it with a simple activity. We also must come up with 5 classroom activity that we
can conduct using the online teaching tool that we have chosen was Tumblr. This platform is very
fun to use the students can customise it according to their own liking. By using online teaching tools,

the teachers can learn how to adapt themselves to the 21st century teaching and learning and also
bring in some excitement to their classroom through technology.
PROJECT 1 REFLECTION (TASK B)
For our project 1 (Task B) we in a group of 5 must come up with an E-book consisting of all the 4
skills, which are reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Through this task I learned how to use
technology to adapt to the changing education system in our world. How creativity can be used to
make the classroom even more fun and exciting.
PROJECT REFLECTION (MOCK TEACHING)

For this project we were supposed to record our mock teaching video according to the topic that we
are assigned to every week. This video must be recorded individually. Every week, our video will be
presented to our lecturer. Before class, we are required to find for someone in our class to do a peer
evaluation of our video and to give us feedbacks. Through this project, I have learned on how to
teach a class, to create lesson plans, and to work on the mistakes I have done in my mock teaching
videos. By rectifying my mistakes, I could be a better teacher when I start to teach in schools. I could
make my technique, strategy, and approaches much better in the future.
