BUILDING REGULATIONS

Based on Standards Malaysia 2007 (MS 1525:2007):
Air conditioning systems and equipment must be sized
to supply no more than the span and system loads
estimated in accordance with clause 8.1 above, while
remaining within the capability of available
equipment. If included in the sizing of the duty
equipment, redundancy in capacity should include
efficiency devices such as variable speed drives, high
efficiency motors, efficient unloading devices, multi
compressors, and so on, so that the equipment's
efficiency does not suffer when operating at varying
loads.
At least one thermostat should be included in each
system for temperature control. Each thermostat
should be able to be set across a minimum
temperature range of 22 to 27 degrees Celsius by
adjusting or selecting sensors. In agreement with 8.2.4,
a multi-stage thermostat should be fitted for
equipment rated at more over 35/65 kWr.

CASE STUDY

The Exchange 106

As for this case study building which is The
Exchange 106, the smart HVAC system has
been used in the office space. It is because
to ensure the air quality improved by using
the sensors. Therefore, the Exchange 106
building is a green building as there is good
indoor environmental air quality in the
building.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, latest technology of
building services such as smart
building system is giving more benefit
compare to the system bad side. for
example, all our normal system used
for the building in our country has been
upgraded to a smart one which is more
convenience, easy to use, faster and
more safer as it also provide a safety
point.
