About the Author
Dr. Anyarat Nattheeraphong is a lecturer at the Department of Western
Languages and Linguistics and the Deputy Director for Foreign Language
Development in the Office of General Education at Mahasarakham University
(MSU). She started her teaching career in 2003. In 2009, she was awarded the
Royal Thai Government Scholarship to do a PhD in English Language Teaching
and Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
Upon her return to Thailand, she started working in middle management,
and she has been involved in many projects with different organizations both
inside and outside of Thailand. She is responsible for developing and delivering
English development projects inside the University. She has also been actively
involved in English development projects and English language teacher training
outside the University.
In terms of professional development, Anyarat was granted a fellowship
to attend a three-week workshop entitled “English Access Microscholarship
Program Teacher Workshop” at the University of South Carolina in 2014. Her
training experiences include the Lower Mekong Initiative: Women’s Leadership
Forum in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2016 and a series of teacher training workshops
organized by the US Embassy in Bangkok. She also offered a course titled
“Teaching English as a Foreign Language” to international students at the Asia
Summer Program hosted by Dongseo University, Busan, South Korea, in July
2018.
Her role in middle management offers the opportunity to work
constructively with her team to initiate English language interventions to serve
her community. Her primary interests are creating a supportive community for
younger generations to develop language skills and other essential skills for their
future education and careers. Her research interests lie in the fields of language
teacher cognition and second language motivation.

Anyarat Nattheeraphong, PhD Anyarat Nattheeraphong, PhD, is a lecturer at the Department of Western
