AQUATICS & SAFETYLearn to swim with Lakeville Area Community Ed!
Our caring and dedicated instructors are Red Cross trained and certified to help your child enjoy developing
swimming and water safety skills in a positive learning environment. Safety topics are included in all classes: basic
water safety, healthy swimming, safe water entry, helping yourself and others in an emergency, and safe weather
conditions for swimming. Pre-requisite for each level is the mastery of skills from the preceding level or equivalent
skills. Each child is provided with a skill assessment within the first two classes to determine appropriate level
placement. Each student receives a progress report at the middle of the session and at the end of the session. It is
common for a child to repeat a level before mastering all skills. Semi-Private lessons must register 2 swimmers and
it is recommended the students are at a similar skill level.

Early Childhood Screening

Early Childhood Screening (ECS) is FREE for all preschool-age
children and required by the State of Minnesota. The optimum
age for screening is 3 - 4 years of age and must be completed
before entering kindergarten. It includes a check of your child’s
development, vision, hearing, weight and immunizations. ECS
helps identify children who may benefit from district and community
resources. To schedule your child’s ECS appointment call 952-232-
3000, #3 and leave a message. We will return your call. ECS is located
at Crystal Lake Education Center, 16250 Ipava Ave.
