Breeder/Owners: Mary & Jeffrey Brown

Cage is a powerful, forward running Weimaraner who is pleasing to watch as he covers

objectives in the field and finds birds with style and intensity. Cage won his third National

Championship in March 2021 at Camp Robinson in Conway, Arkansas and completed his

Grand Field Championship by points earned in hour stakes. He was bred and is owned by

Mary & Jeff Brown. He has lived up to expectations as his line has multiple dogs in his

pedigree who are also Open or Amateur National Field Champions. He is trained and handled

by Diane Vater and scouted by her husband, Chuck Cooper. All who know Cage agree that he

is kind, gentle, and easy-going when not doing fieldwork. At home, he loves to swim, play with

toys and other dogs. He loves being in the office to supervise work of others and will socialize

with anyone who visits.

Tula started her show career with a bang by going Best Puppy in Show. She finished her
Championship exclusively from the Bred-by class which included a five point Specialty
major. On the way to her Grand Championship she picked up a Specially Best of Breed and
Specialty Best of Opposite over top ten specials. She proved herself as a performance dog as
well, earning both her CD and RDX quickly. As a hunting dog she excelled in the field. She
earned her Master Hunter with good scores and many positive comments from several judges.
Her bird work was very solid and polished. She handled kindly with a minimum of commands.
Tula embodied the gentleman’s hunting dog and earned her Master Hunter title with six
consecutive passes. In her spare time, Tula whelped a healthy litter of puppies and is now

enjoying a well earned retirement.

I could have never imagined the journey we were starting when we picked up Cassie
six years ago! We’d lost our 13 year old Silversmith dog and wanted another family
companion. She is that and so much more. From confirmation, field work, obedience, dock
diving, FastCat, Farm Dog, Trick Dog, ATT, mother to ten – you name it – she has been
all in! She has the mellowest temperament and is truly my heart dog. We have many more

adventures planned for the future.

“Rufus” has greatly exceeded our expectations as novice Weimaraner owners and handlers.
We are very grateful to have him in our family. From day one he has been an exceptionally
confident and curious dog, possessing an overtly friendly temperament while maintaining a
consistent high drive in the field. He has been awarded multiple BOB, OHBOB, AOMISS and
Group 2 placements in the OH ring. Rufus is currently nationally ranked in the OH series and
is looking forward to accomplishing his long-range conformation goal in the near future. Rufus
performs with persistence, precision and determination in the bird field. This past spring, Rufus
was able to earn all four legs of his Senior Hunter title, which also resulted in earning his VX2.
He is excited to continue working towards advanced titles in the bird field this fall. Rufus is a
true representation of versatility in our breed. When not competing in the conformation ring or
bird field, you can find him tearing up the agility ring. He is currently competing in AKC, UKI
and USDAA trials with a focus on achieving advanced AKC titles and perhaps one day a
MACH. Rufus received a Versatile Tri-Athlete award, AOM and OHBOB at the WCA National
and WCWDCA Specialties in Gettysburg (October 2021). He is always 100% owner trained
and handled in all venues. We hope to cultivate Rufus’ varied gifts as we continue our training
in agility, upland hunting, obedience and tracking. We truly believe that he is in his prime and
are excited about his bright future and advanced accomplishments to come.

WCA Breeder Referral

Expecting Puppies?

by Billie Thompson

A new litter of puppies fills us with excitement, hopes and dreams. It’s a perfect time to
take advantage of your WCA Breeder Referral service.
A few things you might like to know about this service.
• I do not screen inquiries. Instead, that is up to each individual breeder. Breeders

have individual preferences for selecting potential homes for their puppies.
• The greater number of inquiries comes from people wanting a well-bred puppy and

some have also done a little research on the breed.
• The majority of inquiries are from people that do not want to travel far for a pup,

though I encourage them to consider greater distances.
• The majority of inquiries indicate they want to obtain a puppy from a

reputable breeder.
• If no one has listed a litter in an area preferred by an inquiry, I give out contacts for

any local clubs nearby as well.
This service is available to all WCA members. Futurity litters are automatically placed on
the list. If your litter is not nominated, simply email your information to me to be placed
on the list.
Everyone is welcome to notify me as early as pregnancy is confirmed!
Your information should include - sire and dam, approximate due date, your city, state,
email and phone number.
Please send this information to [email protected].
Thank you, and best of luck with your litters!

Western Washington Weimaraner Club
Specialty Show
Enumclaw, WA

Thursday, August 18, 2022

Western Washington Weimaraner Club had a fabulous turn out for
the 2022 Specialty Shows, Junior Showmanship, Obedience and
the WCA Western Futurity/Maturity in Enumclaw, WA. We had
beautiful sunny weather every day and a great Specialty entry of
over 50 grey dogs! Long time breeder, Diane Swanson of Green
Acres Weimaraners judged the Puppy and Veteran Sweepstakes,
Obedience was judged by Linda Hause, and Rally by Ronnie Sue
Leith. The Specialty shows were judged by International Judge,
Shharat Sharma and Mary Kathleen Faeth respectively. Junior
Showmanship was also judged by Mary Kathleen Faeth. The WCA Western Futurity/
Maturity was judged by breeder Judge, Alessandra R. Folz.

We were so happy to offer some amazing, one-of-a-kind trophies for all the events
thanks to our trophy chair, Mindy Wilson. We are so thrilled that everyone loved them!

The club held a great Pacific Northwest themed lunch including fresh salmon, chicken
and several delectable salads during the award ceremony. A huge thank you to Dan
Smith and Amy Paulose for doing such an amazing job putting the luncheon together.

Thank you to Gary and Robin Clark and Ingrid Kafer for setting up the rescue auction
and to all who participated. We raised a whopping $1000 for Oregon Weimaraner
Rescue!

Many thanks to all the exhibitors and and volunteers near and far that joined us for our
events. We sure hope you all had a wonderful time and we look forward to seeing you
again in 2023!

Sweepstakes and Specialty

submtted by Sue Ramspacher

The Delaware Valley Weimaraner Club held its Fall Sweepstakes and Specialty on Sunday
September 11th in conjunction with the Westchester Kennel Club all-breed show at North
Branch Park in Bridgewater NJ.

Judge Mrs. Linda Clark kicked things off by judging the Puppy and Veteran Sweepstakes.
Dr. Steven Herman presided over the impressive Regular and Best of Breed classes. It was
a cool and rainy day but neither the dogs nor exhibitors were deterred. A fun and compet-
itive time was had by all.

Congratulations to all ribbon recipients, winners, and new title earners! Thanks to DVWC
members, exhibitors and spectators who contributed to the success of the show. Looking
forward to seeing everyone again in Spring 2023 for back-to-back sweepstakes and spe-
cialties at Lums Pond, Bear DE.
