Gray Summit, MO
Chair: Sandy West
We gathered for the 2022 National Specialty less than 6 months after the 2021 National
Specialty in Gettysburg, PA. Special thanks to the National Show Committee for your
hard work on the quick turn around and our host, the Weimaraner Club of Greater St.
Louis for all your dedication and innovative efforts. Thanks to the membership for the
entries, raffle support and amazing trophy donation support.
We are truly fortunate to use a site as beautiful and accommodating as Purina Farms.
Their staff stayed close by and readily addressed all our needs. Plus, all the extras
furnished by the Weimaraner Club of Greater St Louis; the floral arrangements around
the ring, the balloons for the photo back drop and the games and entertainment at the
Welcome Party made for a fun and festive week.
Some problems did occur. We had exhibitors with uncooperative rental vehicles and
RV’s. We all chipped in and helped deliver people, dogs, and cargo to the right places
on time. Makes me proud to be part of the WCA when we all come together in time
of need.
Our raffle proceeds continue to support the WCA, Weimaraner Foundation Fund and
our local host club. Thanks to Julie Aune and crew for making this vital event such a
success. Keeping all our finances straight is Vickie Margolis who did double duty as
our ring steward as well. I am so grateful for everyone who gives so freely of time!
Thanks to Kayleen Klier for coordinating all the WCA trophies and ribbons. Thanks to
Al Hartman who made the beautiful one of the kind trophies for 2022. Cindy James-
Moore and Jan Hare delivered another enjoyable Weimaraner Foundation Fund Top 20
Competition. So much work goes into that event, and we genuinely appreciate your
efforts. Many thanks to Bonnie Smith Hill for your endless live streaming for those at
home to enjoy.
Thank you, Jo’Ann Rosenberg, for coordinating all the food for our social events. We
could not make it without you! Those who attended the National Banquet, were treated
to a PowerPoint display featuring many of our Top 10 dogs from various disciplines.
Thank you, Kelly Bagley, for creating the presentation and thanks for Jan Hare for
your help as well.
Our new class addition this year was the Bred-By Puppy Class. It was well supported,
and our Best of Winners award came out of that class. Congratulations to all the winners
and we hope to see you next year in Ventura, CA for our 2023 National Specialty.

Weimaraner Club of America National
Obedience & Rally Trials
Purina Farms Event Center
Gray Summit, MO
May 11, 2022
Chair: Jill Paige
The National Specialty obedience and Rally trials were held on Wednesday May
11th. Both events were judged by Fred Buroff from Illinois. The morning began with
our obedience trial. 30 dogs were entered for a total of 33 runs. All regular classes
were offered and this year we added the Beginner Novice class, something that has
been requested for the last couple of years. High in Trial was awarded to NAFC CH
Southpaw N Regen's Preacher Man, CDX RD V, shown by Pat Gannon.
The breakdown of entries and qualifiers are as follows:
Class # Dogs competed # Qualifiers
Utility B 2 0
Open B 4 2
Open A 3 1
Novice B 6 4
Novice A 2 1
Beginner Novice B 5 4
Beginner Novice A 2 2
The Rally trial started following a quick lunch break. All classes were offered and
quite a few exhibitors moved up in classes after finishing titles the day before during
the Weimaraner Club of Greater St. Louis specialty trial. The Rally High Combined
Triple (given to the dog that qualifies with the highest score from the Advanced B,
Excellent B and Master) AND the Rally High Combined (awarded to the dog that
qualifies with the highest scores from Advanced B and Excellent B) were won by
RACH Mogan Oakley Bruand, VCD1 UD RM4 RAE4 TDX OAP NFP SWA SCAE
SHDN CGC TKI V, shown by Nicole Young.
The breakdown of entries and qualifiers are as follows:
Class # Dogs competed # Qualifiers
Utility B 2 0
Open B 4 2
Open A 3 1
Novice B 6 4
Novice A 2 1
Beginner Novice B 5 4
Beginner Novice A 2 2
I’d like to thank the members who stepped in to help steward, some of whom were not
even showing in obedience or rally. Congratulations to the teams who finished titles,
each one received a new title medallion!

Agility Trials
Purina Farms Event Center
Gray Summit, MO
May 12, 2022
Chair: Sheila Cook
Thursday was the agility day at the Weimaraner National Specialty. We offered back-
to-back Weimaraner-Only trials. In Trial #1 in addition to the regular and preferred
Jumpers and Standard classes, we also offered T2B and had a total of 95 runs. In Trial
#2 we had a total of 69 runs. Our judge, Mary Mullen, designed great flowing courses,
which nested easily, making building the courses super easy.
In the Master/Excellent classes we had a total of 46 runs, with 9 in Open and 14 in
Novice. I know several teams earned titles during our trial, so many Congratulations
to them.
The beautiful High Scoring ribbons were once again sponsored by the Weimaraner
Club of the Tennessee Valley and were awarded to the following teams:
• High Scoring Novice STD was earned by Stephanie Schneider and “Gryffin”
Crosswinds I'm The Brightest Star In Acadia, BCAT
• High Scoring Novice JWW was earned by Nicole Young and “Aletna”

The award for Preferred High in Trial was awarded to Sylvia Kidd and “Poke” – many
congratulations to a great team. The award for High in Trial was very competitive, with
no teams running clean in both rounds of Standard and JWW. Therefore, the winner
was calculated based upon the most clean runs with the fastest time/most points. There
were six teams each with a total of 3 clean runs – Tina Porch and “Gator,” Jan Hare
Page 40
and “Noodle,” Stephanie Langston and “Tacoma,” Stacey Zaleski and “Calgary” and
Sheila Cook with “Brego” and “Rhaegal.” The top three dogs were only separated by
4 points. Third place went to Stacey Zaleski (77 pts) and her amazing “Calgary,” in
second place, was Sheila Cook and the very loud, “Brego” (79 pts) and in first place
and the overall Regular High in Trial was awarded to Sheila Cook and “Rhaegal” (81
pts).
As Trial Chair, I would like to thank everyone who stepped up and helped with building,
gating, timing, scribing and bar setting. Everyone was awesome at helping out as soon
as they had run their dogs, they stepped in and we were never short of workers. As you
all know, our Weim-only trials are small and it takes a lot of volunteers to make them
run smoothly. After the trial, judge Mary Mullen asked me to thank everyone. She told
me that she really enjoyed herself and loved watching so many great gray dogs run.
Finally, I would like to offer a special thank you to our Trial Secretary, Vicki Miller,
not only for all the hard work in processing competitors’ entries but for her invaluable
help with the calculations required to determine the High Scoring and High in Trial
dogs in addition to the Versatile points earned.
