Important Policy Update for Electric Power Utilities in the
United States

The “Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act” (“the ACT”), also referred to as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, was
recently signed into law. Several of the provisions in the ACT opened significant opportunities for using
ACCC® Conductor to meet the ACT’s objectives. In three of the ACT’s sections, advanced conductors were explicitly
called out in the law.

• In Section 40101, Preventing Outages and Enhancing the resilience of the Electric Grid, Grant recipients can use the money to
reconductor power lines with low-sag, advanced conductors.

• In Section 40106, Transmission Facilitation Program, the Secretary of Energy is to give priority in their loan and facilitation program
to projects that use technology that enhances capacity, efficiency, resilience, or reliability of an electric power transmission system
including reconductoring of an existing electric transmission line with advanced conductor.

• In Section 40107, Deployment of Technologies to Enhance Grid Flexibility, the Grant matching funds can be used by transmission
owners and developers to purchase and installation advanced transmission technologies such as advanced conductors.
