BIOGRAPHY
A beautiful soul has returned to God…
PATIENCE ESEREVWRUNE
HENRY-ANDOH
Patience Eserevwrune Henry-Andoh (nee Ogidi-Gbegbaje) was born in Benin City on 30th October
1968 to the family of Dr. Edwin Gbefememre Ogidi-Gbegbaje, Chief Consultant Radiologist at the
Central Hospital, Benin City and Mrs Abonerhe O. Ogidi-Gbegbaje (Nee Ighrakpata), Permanent
Secretary in the defunct Bendel State Civil Service.
She attended Emotan Primary School, Dawson Road, Benin City, run by the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady
of Apostles (OLA) in Nigeria of the Roman Catholic Church. In 1979, she was admitted to St. Maria Gorretti
College, Benin City, a Roman Catholic Girls College, but left for the Federal Government Girls College,
Shagamu, Ogun State in 1982, where she completed her high school in 1985.
In 1986, “Blackie”, as she was fondly called, was admitted to read law at the Law Faculty of the University of
Benin where she graduated with an LLB (Hons) in 1991. She proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in the
same year and was called to the bar in 1992. She obtained her Master's degree in Law and Diplomacy from
the University of Lagos in 1999. She served in the Federal Ministry of Justice as a Youth Corp member
(NYSC), and thereafter, was employed by Dubri Oil. She was a member of Anyanru, Gbegbaje, Ogie &
Company, and also an effective Member and Director of several NGOs and Development Associations.
On the 23rd day of September, 1995, Patience married Henry Kwesi Andoh, her university sweetheart. The
marriage was blessed with four children (now young adults): Mario Komina, Gratian Yaw, Ritalucia Ajuah
and Josemaria Komina; making up a united family that was inspiring and accommodating to all. Their home
was infused with love, generosity, warmth & laughter; thanks to their matriarch, Patience, who always had
an effervescent, genuine smile that endeared her to everyone who met her. She was a woman of prayer
and devoted servant of God who lived in peace and harmony with all.
She lived in the service of God and her family and was known for her warm smile, generous heart, lovely
disposition, loyal companionship and motherly care. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
May she rest in perfect peace in the arms of the Father, who she served so faithfully till the end.

TRIBUTES
My Blackie, My Eserevwrune, hmmm, this was not how we planned it; this was not the deal oh. You have
done it again, but this time with finality. We had a deal and a plan. You have gone against the plan again, as
you have done before with the best intention, but this is the most difficult to accept or understand. I love
you so so much.
Hmmm, the emptiness and darkness I am experiencing now!! The void, I feel so lost and confused. The plan
was that I go first and you stay back to take care of our lovely children & grandchildren (though you always
say, “at a good ripe old age”) running around doing “Omugoh” (I always told you, I cannot deal with that). Just
as you pulled the children out of the schools they were attending and registered them in another school
(for the best of reason, which I realized later), now you have left me and taken off, You have gone to
convince our Lord, through our Lady (whom you loved so much) to take you first, after we agreed I would go
first!! How do I go about doing omugoh, where do I begin from?
I am sure that heaven has truly gained an angel, I can just imagine you in heaven, arranging the garden and
telling st. Peter that it is not well arranged and running around changing things to make sure they look as
perfect as possible. The children and I always say, you can create work, where there is no work.
Yes, heaven has gained an angel, but I have lost a mother, a sister, a wife, a friend (my best friend), a lover,
the mother of my children, my confidant, my rock, hmmm, how do I go on?
I take consolation in the fact that you are in a better place, and in your usual self, looking out for us, taking
care of us and mother-henning us! Moreover, I suppose it would be easier to do, as you now are before the
throne of grace, and much closer to our Lady.
Our 25th wedding anniversary is just around the corner (23 September) and we were planning to celebrate
it in some style (although in my usual self, I worry about the money part) and you will always tell me, don't
worry my love, the money will come. This is however not to be now.
Eserevwrune, my love…..Iyawo mi, my ebony black, ever-smiling beauty, this was not the plan, but I accept
since our Lord has okayed it, but you must ask Him to tell me, ''what next”, what is the plan because I am so
confused, more confused than I have ever been in my whole life.
I love you Blackie, I will forever love you.
Your Kwesi
My mother was one of the most kind-hearted, loving, charitable, charismatic, enthusiastic woman I have
ever known. She taught me to be kind and loving yet strong and a lot of times stubborn. She was my biggest
fan, always believed I could do anything. She was my best friend, my adviser, my safe place. She showed me
the benefits of being a charitable person and if I had to pick one thing I most appreciate from her teaching is
that of being charitable. My mum was loved by many, envied by a few but very few truly knew how great a
person she was. I am extremely thankful for the life she lived, how much she sacrificed to make us her
children's lives better. She showed me how to strive for excellence no matter the obstacles. I miss you more
every day. There's a void in my heart and I know it can't be filled but I do not mourn your death I celebrate
the amazing life you lived and the people's lives you touched. I know I didn't lose a mother but rather I
gained a guardian angel. You carried your earthly cross diligently and I'm so proud of you mum. Save some
space for us in heaven when you get there. When my time on earth is up I hope to see you in heaven.

My mother was the most amazing yet stressful person I have ever known she was my best friend there was
nothing I couldn't tell her, I could always make her laugh and she was so proud of me and I was so proud of
her. She taught me so much about life and how to live a fulfilling life and I also taught her some of my many
tricks to enjoying life even when it doesn't go your way by taking a step back and looking at the little things
that did go well.
I was her favorite no matter what all the others say, she would never have said it but I know I was.

Tribute to my dear sister,
Patience Eserevwrune Henry -Andoh.
My Sister, Patience Eserevwrune Henry-Andoh (Blackie, as we fondly called her), was the “Morning Glory”,
the fluorescent flower in my family, vivid everywhere, colorful in her playful and extroverted nature. She
had the gift of lighting up everywhere she found herself.

“Thank you my brother dearest, my father since I was 15yrs and my friend for 51 yrs. Loads of love to you
and your awesome family”.
(Text messages from my Sister, Patience (Blackie).
She radiated happiness wherever she went and to everyone she met. Her flashing white teeth announced
her presence and was the first thing you noticed about her. Her face was locked always in a smile or
laughter and she conjured the same laughter from everyone around her.
That laughter, that smile and the flashing white teeth are what we have lost and will be committed to
mother earth today. God, indeed, gave us a living expression of His eternal love in Sister Blackie and today,
we return that love to God, the eternal symbol and owner of love. May His name be praised forever more.
Patience was born in Benin City on 30th October 1968. Like all of us, she was born to the family of Dr. Edwin
Gbefememre Ogidi-Gbegbaje, Chief Consultant Radiologist at the Central Hospital, Benin City, in the then

admitted to St. Maria Gorretti College, Benin City, a Roman Catholic Girls College, but left for the Federal

In 1986, Blackie was admitted to read law at the Law Faculty of the University of Benin where she graduated
with an LLB (Hons) in 1991. She proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in the same year and was called to
the bar in 1992. She later went on to obtain her Master's degree in Law and Diplomacy (MILD) from the
University of Lagos in 1999.
She served in the Federal Ministry of Justice as a Youth Corp member (NYSC), and thereafter, was employed
by Dubri Oil. She was a member of Anyanru, Gbegbaje, Ogie & Company, and also an effective Member and
Director of several NGOs and Development Associations.
Patience's many engagements in Community Development included PROJECT FOR HUMAN ASSOCIATION,
an NGO of great impact to the development of communities; FOUNDATION CONSTRUCTION; and
OMOLEWA. She was also an inspiration to fellow members of SIGNAL ALLIANCE and the SEGMST GROUP.
Patience was married to Henry Kwesi Andoh on the 23rd of September, 1995 and the marriage was blessed
with four young adults who have enjoyed quality education and equally have a promising future ahead of
them.
Patience was so emotionally tied to my mother who died when she was just fifteen. She was a true copy of
our matriarch, generous in spirit, deep in faith and a real mother hen, gathering all around her and building
friendship.
Patience's expressive generosity with her affection and love, her open laughter and affective mirth, her
commitment to infuse happiness and a life of love to everyone was what endeared her to one and all, a
commitment which kept her in church and in prayers for most of her days, doing the work of God and
praying for brethren, families and friends.
“Sir Edddyyyy Gggggg, my awesome big brother I just feel so much gratitude in my heart for you THANK
YOU and GOD CONTINUE to bless you, your family and work. Amen. Please NEVER get tired of your

generosity towards anyone that reaches out to you for financial help because am sure it can be so over
whelming sometimes or most times. Now you are giving so much because this is sowing time don't stop
because the reaping time for you and your descendants will come and it will happen in your life time in your
good health of mind and body in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Amen”. (Blackie's text to me a few months
to her untimely death).
She was a lifelong member of the Opus Dei, believing irrevocably, that the purpose of life should reflect the
nature of God. Work is prayer and reflects the nature of God and work for God, and that the true life and
living was to do the work of God.
Patience's work in OPUS DEI was the crystallization of her deep faith in God through her beloved Roman
Catholic Church. Opus Dei represents the deep end of Christian faith and her immersion in this faith and
the work of God is what defined my Sister throughout her life.
It is the reason why we are so hopeful of her eternal reward in the heavenly kingdom. Our prayer today is
that God reward her work and bless us the living to meet her smiling again in His heavenly kingdom.
We mourn the loss of our Sister, Eserevwrune Patience. The loss is heavy and painful indeed, for she was a
woman who moulded people by infusing her Goodwill to everyone she met.
Nevertheless, we are assured that our loss of Blackie is the gain of heaven.
We know that she is where we all aspire to be when we leave this earth. So we bid you farewell, my younger
sister, our family's Morning Glory. We shall meet and be united again in the Lord's eternal Kingdom where
we shall part no more.

Tribute to my dear sweet beautiful God fearing sister,
Patience Eserevwrune Henry -Andoh.
I cannot believe that I am writing a tribute on your going to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Nevertheless, in everything I give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you
(1Thessalonians 5:18).
My dear beloved sister: so caring, respectful, prayerful, the one who loved the Lord with all her heart, spirit,
soul and body.
You loved to help people overcome challenges, you speak up for them against any form of injustice even at
great cost to you.
You used to communicate daily with me, offering words of encouragement through music and prayers.
When that was no longer the case after a few days, I knew most likely that all was not well.
On behalf of my family, I celebrate God's faithfulness and mercies upon your life, your seeds you dedicated
all to train and teach to lead in the way of the Lord, are great testimonies to the glory of God. They will all

"Pastillooooooooooooo", as you fondly called my husband, your look alike, even in voice Engineer, your
legal colleague, whom you were so proud of, mourn your unexpected sudden departure... but we are
encouraged by the words of the Lord that, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. (2
Corinthians 5:8).
You can now sing 24/7 as you loved to do in your lovely soprano voice. Enjoy the peace, joy, health, love,
glory and splendour of heaven.
To live in the hearts of those you loved is to live forever.
Adieu, Shalom, Shalom. Rest in perfect peace till we meet to part no more, if Jesus tarries at the resurrection
morning.
Mamiroro Christine Ogunkanmi (Sister)
Esere gone too soon, God took her home. In our heart she lives still. Send my love to our parents.
May her soul RIP....
Oromu Gloria (Sister)
My fondest memories of you growing up as a child was that you were one of our big sisters that could take
charge during any fuction in the Gbegbaje family. You were a bridge between the elders and the children.
While the elders were asking for results on a task given, we your younger ones could come to you for
succour and refuge in the same environment. You took this same attitude into your marriage and every
other aspect of your life. No wonder your passage is so difficult for all of us.
Words will not be enough to say how we feel now that you're no longer with us, but our consolation remains
in the fact that physical death must lead us into the presence of The Risen Christ. We love you and miss you
but God loves you more.
Yours in Jesus and Mary,

You were the make up artist at my eldest daughter's wedding (Omatsola Gbegbaje), You tied the head gear
for all the girls, and I have known you since 1978 when my dear Late Aunty use to take care of our last
Daughter when we were at work.
You have the most lively disposition I have ever seen in a person. Always ready to help, with the most
infectious laughter. You always reminded me of my late Aunt. You are too good to be gone.
May your soul rest eternally. Amen.
Tony Gbegbaje (Uncle)
It's been a few weeks since we received the news of the passing to glory of my dear Aunty Patience and it
still feels surreal. I will never forget her smile and kind heart which she gave abundantly to me as her
nephew. She was unique, positive and stoic in her approach to life. As a fellow lawyer like her, I remember
her words of encouragement at each life landmark and a gentle nudge to get even better.
Aunty Patience was a person with strong faith and love for her family. This is clear in the way she embraced
and looked after uncle Henry and my cousins. I pray that God will wrap His arms around them.
Whilst her earthly journey is over, her mark and impact is undoubtedly on all those that met and knew her.
It was a blessing to have you as an Aunty and I pray that you rest in glorious peace eternally.
With love from
Oyinkan Ogunkanmi (Nephew)
My dear Aunty, thank you for your love and your light.
I will forever miss your amazing operatic birthday song renditions. I will miss your vibrant and effusive
smile and your photo shoots. It's still hard to believe that such a prayerful, warm and lovely soul is no longer
with us.
Thank you for remembering every one's birthday without fail. Thank you for always asking about our
wellbeing and offering your prayers.
I will miss you Aunty, I pray that you rest in peace, and I will carry you in my heart.
May God envelope all our family in His warm embrace and may His love comfort us all.
Love,

Patintus!
To many of us who came across you at different times of your life in Lagos, one thing was constant; you
were not just a strong catholic, you were also a fighter for good. From when we got to know you through
Henry, you became our sister, our wife, our mother, our friend, a trusted colleague, a daughter. To some,
you were a mother hen, caring for them and taking up cases of injustice to people, some of whom you did
not even know well. For some you were an adversary; yes, no one comes against your husband and
children. Some saw you as a prayer warrior, the adorable wife of Henry and mother of four beautiful
children. You meant many things but to every one of us, you made a great impact. Describing you was a no

brainer…that black lady with the great bright smile and shinning white teeth!
It is indeed sad that today we talk about you in the past. Who would have thought that was possible the last
time we spoke! You never wanted to bother anyone as all you asked for was simply' please pray for me”
December was always a great time for us all. We would choose a date, meet as families and rock Christmas!
Alas, that is not going to happen this year…at least not with you. You would argue eloquently on issues that
bothered you but ultimately, end up with that bright smile and… life continues. You were selfless in service
to others and this is evident in your children also. Many of us learnt a great deal from you even if we were
older! Could be that God did not want the world to corrupt His incorruptible; hence He stole you away to
safety and heavenly bliss.
If it were possible to make a request for God to return you to us, the chorus of voices would be very loud. If it
were possible to turn back the hands of the clock, all of us would queue to partake in that effort. If prayers
could change the mind of the Almighty, ahhh… by now that beautiful bright smile of yours would be
adorning our different abodes. But unfortunately, we have to accept that you have truly left us. Left us to
reminisce about the beautiful times we spent with you. The changes you made in our lives. The joy and
warmth you radiated. The love you showed.
Go well our dear Patintus. We are too sure you are sitting in your rightful place in the Lord's palace,
worshipping Him night and day and praying for us all. We are sure you are looking down from heaven and
telling Henry your children and all of us not to worry. We believe you. Heaven just got another angel with
the brightest smile of all.

Glowing shadow you were
That shone brightly for us all to see.

comfort.
Our shining shadow your unforgettable smile will forever remain in our hearts and minds.
Strange as it seems to have your name written on our palms, your zest for life and the joy it brought us all
will never be forgotten.
Not fame, nor riches nor pleasure can we compare your love for us all.
Adu bi a don, hmmm you will forever remain in our hearts and we are truely grateful to God for the life you

Tribute for Patience Henry-Andoh nee Ogidi-Gbegbaje
We called you Angel P, the Black Panther, a pet name you shared with Prof because of your birth month.
We're finding it difficult to believe you are no longer with us. If we were told the sun would set so early, we
would have doubted it. It's hard to comprehend. . .you really left us too early but our loss is heaven's gain.
Our one woman choir, whose white smile against your ebony face, lit up a room, your voice rang out in a
customized song for every classmate who newly joined our class platform. You were fun to be with and had
pet names for your friends. You were a born-comedian, a strong and virtuous woman.
Patience, you were the friend who stuck closer than a sister, and gave others a shoulder to cry on and
selflessly carried other sisters' burdens to God in prayers. A voice of encouragement and an intercessor per
excellence. Your prayers left no one in doubt of your Catholic identity. You taught some of us Psalm 100 and
till date we have held on to that Psalm.
Such a vibrant voice. Such a passion for caring. You were vivacious, you were frank and you were
supportive. You were quite impactful, using your network to better the lives of others.
We remember you with Don Williams' song everytime since the news broke. . . Some Broken Hearts Never
Mend. From sunrise to sunset, every moment would have been more wonderful if you were still with us.
Like a candle in the wind, your spirit has soared to greater heights and an everlasting light. Shine on. . .smile
on. . .sleep on Angel Patience.
We called you Ogidi pikin....... the Black Panther. You have left us out in the cold. The world lost a Treasure
and a Jewel. Our beautiful Sister with a golden heart.
Goodnight Angel! Thanks for being a wonderful Sister! We miss you sorely

A Tribute to our Dear Friend Patience Henry-Andoh Nee Ogidi-Gbegbaje
Ogidi!!!
Every memory of you is peppered with your special dazzling smile. Your special swagger as you walked
brings a smile to our faces.
Shining black with pride!! That is how we remember you. Way back in school you stood out with pride and
your name made it very easy to stand-out "Patience Ogidi-gbegbaje" oh the years may have passed but you
could never be forgotten.
Your bright smile and bubbly personality are part of our cherished, beautiful memories of Sagamu. Funny,
vivacious personality, you fit right in and made friends easily. A light has left this earth to join the stars in
Heaven. You were very proud of your 'little' sister Gloria.
We received the news of your passing with shock and disbelief. Though time and chance meant we didn't
see often, yet the news of your passing cut deep. It is undoubtedly a devastating loss. We ultimately submit
that you have returned to the Author of life, Whom you loved and served.
We pray the Comfort and Strength of the Lord uphold your Husband, children and families, from this time
on and that your memory will be blessed in the hearts of your loved ones.
Heaven has gained an Angel.
Sleep on dear Ogidi, sleep on till the resurrection morning.

TRIBUTE TO PATIENCE HENRY-ANDOH
BY CEIBS WELA (Women Entrepreneurship and Leadership in Africa) COLLEAGUES
It is with a sad heart that we pay this tribute to one of our small group of sisters who got the privilege to
come together as members of the WELA group of CEIBS – China Europe International Business School.
Warren Buffet is on record to have advised that “Look for 3 things in a person – intelligence, energy and
integrity. If they don't have the last one, don't bother with the first two”.
Patience Henry-Andoh, whom we eulogize today, was the epitome of integrity, intelligence and energy. Her
love and kindness removed any trace of darkness of pride and ego from her heart. She successfully learnt
to show humility before all and sundry. Patience was always on her knees to lift someone who is down and
rejected; strengthening them and never to crush them. Above all, she was always forgiving from her heart
those who unkindly hurt her.
Such was Pat to all of us who were in the WELA class of 2015/2016. Patience was a very loving and caring

person. Whenever it was within her means to offer a helping hand, support, or encouragement, she did it
with such care and thoughtfulness that amazed us all. Pat connected with many of her mates on different
levels, including Catholicism, the Christian Faith, Family, and those she filled with a strength of purpose.
Our year group certainly got impressed with Patience's leadership, hard work and diligence, and her family
values that defined her refined personality and character; deeply wise, yet humble and very unassuming
by nature. Patience would argue out her point convincingly in class to the admiration of many.
Genevieve misses your little chats and encouragement to keep focused on her dreams, and she is grateful
that you lived to rejoice with her about the progress made; Nana Yaa remembers your kindness and love,
by accompanying her to request and arrange Mass for her step son's first death anniversary; Joanne
remembers your regular calls to inform her of bargains around Spintex Road, or in town, and your constant
inspiration to kick start her project and to follow her dream. Many of your colleagues remember you
showing them where the Catholic Church was when we went on our educational program in Shanghai,
China, and taking them there on many days for Mass during the time we were there. The list goes on and
on…..
Sweet Sister, WELA, 2015/2016 group, particularly those who had the opportunity to get to know you more
on a personal level, would like to put on record that your very existence and way of life was a whole
institution for life's learning experience. Your beautiful smile alone spoke volumes. Indeed, your way of life
and your friendship with us enabled us to appreciate the saying that;
“To live is to choose.
But to choose well,
You must know
Who you are and
What you stand for.
Where you want
To go and why you
Want to get there”
Patience, your passing has really confirmed to us that “time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water
twice, because the flow that passes will never pass again”. Patience, we sincerely wish to state that we have
enjoyed every moment we were so fortunate to share with you, and knowing you has made some of us
indeed better people.
“The beauty of life
Does not depend on how
Happy you are or how
Long you lived.
But on how happy others
Can be because of you.”
And you lived your life exactly that way. May God grant you a merciful judgement, and welcome you into His
heavenly kingdom.
REST PEACEFULLY IN THE LORD, OUR DEAR SISTER. GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU SAFELY UNDER HIS MIGHTY
WINGS TILL WE MEET AGAIN.
REST IN PERFECT PEACE DEAR SISTER!!
FARE THEE WELL!!!

Of Uniben Law class of '91, you were among the dazzling stars
Ebullient, energetic, focused and hardworking trailblazer
Our dark skinned convivial jewel with the infectious signature smile
Such that welled from the heart, with the radiance of a blooming flower
To us, you were a gift from God to humanity
To counsel discouraged souls to the right path
To restore shaky marriages back to their feet
Dedicated and fervent in spirit, working graciously for the Lord
Perhaps the reason for your early call, to join the choir of angels
Pato, Ogidi, Blackie, your friends still wonder if it is a dream
Recalling the days at the Law School, the gists, exercises and dreams of matrimony
What about the subsequent reunions and your unwavering love and friendship?
Without doubt, you represented the unblemished beauty of an African woman.
Though we mourn, we draw strength from the hallmark of your good works
Your kindness, godliness, family virtues, intellect and nobility of character
For these and more, we will sure miss you, even as we're assured that you're in heaven
Chilling with the angels until we shall meet to part no more.
Rest in peace Patience Henry-Andoh (nee Ogidi-gbegbaje). God bless your soul.

TRIBUTE TO A DEAR SISTER
Life they say is in phases, but how serially these phases are arranged is exactly what no man can tell.
Everyone believes and wishes to see the last phase of his or her lifetime. Unfortunately, you did not wait to
see yours. I wonder why you hurriedly decided to transit to the other side of life without prior notice! Your
departure was the greatest shock I have ever had in my lifetime. That ever welcoming SMILE… with those
sparkling white set of teeth will no longer be seen again. ESEREWRUNE, as lively and strong as you were,
you could not fight death when it came calling. Why? Words cannot truly express how we have missed you
since you left, but you must know that even at death, we still love you. Rest in perfect peace BLACKKIE, as
you were fondly called by everyone.

Aunty Pat, you have always been my role model...I am short of words but I'll let the whole world know that
you are nothing but an angel sent on earth to be a light to so many souls. You are a rare gem..I count myself
lucky to have crossed your part...words alone is not enough but you'll forever live in my heart. You brought
me more closer to Christ, what more could I have asked for...you've played the role of a mother to me and
to many..you are a mother hen that gathers her chicks together and never allow any harm befall them. You
are a pure soul that wishes nothing but good for others. I know without doubts that you are in a better place
now..though you have left us, your memory will forever linger in my heart..u left a vacuum no one can
replace. You will
be greatly missed. Rest on my beloved aunty Pat till we meet to part no more!

remember our errands in Shanghai and you ensuring we get great deals, your regular check up on me even
when you left Ghana...
I also remember how you and Henry pushed me to finally enroll on my Doctoral program.
......Hmmmm my last chat with you a few weeks to your demise, we praised God for something we have
been talking and praying about for a while, which has finally been answered. I am saddened by the fact that
you are not here to see how our dream unfolds...but I am consoled that you are resting with the Lord.
You lived and impacted lives very positively!!!...I will dearly miss you my dear sister of faith!!!!Rest In Peace

Tribute from your BFF
How do you describe one of God's finest gift to humanity? Blackie, you were a very rare gem and I am
writing this with great sadness in my heart over your untimely departure at just 51years.
Now, I know why you dominated my thoughts the day before and on the day of your departure and I will
forever remember you just as you wanted me to.
You were such a beautiful woman, inside and out, you were a wonderful friend to me, encouraging and
praying for me since our undergraduate days in UNIBEN. On my last birthday, you sent me your best
wishes via text and a voice note. Due to my work schedule and the many messages I received on the day, I
could not listen to your voice note. I played it after your transition to glory and my friend, it was vintage
Blackie! You were real and you were always a straight shooter. If you were here, I know you would have told
me off for the delay in listening to your voice note.

PATIENCE ESEREVWRUNE
HENRY-ANDOH
Ah! Blackie, please forgive me. I will keep this voice note for the rest of my life, it's now a "memento", and it
was the last time you spoke to me.
You were both a very loving wife and mother to your husband, Henry and your four lovely children. You
were Henry's soulmate and to your children, you were not just their mother, you were their best friend and
confidant and I pray the Lord will keep and protect them all and give them the grace to go on and do you
proud.
You had a huge presence and always lighted up a room with your contagious smile and you were always
willing to bend over backwards to meet the needs of everyone around you. Blackie you will be sorely
missed by everyone who knew you.
Your kind and generous spirit will live on through your children, and they will always know how much you
loved them. You tried with all your heart to stay for them, but when Heaven calls, Saints answer and you
had to go.
Take your rest my friend, rest in peace. You did all that you could, your labour was not in vain, God who
called you home will guide, protect and provide for your husband and children. Blackie, because we love
you, we are comforted knowing that you will always be with us, in our hearts. Better still, we will see you
again, my darling friend, on the resurrection morning.

Adieu!!!!
Your BFF, Oruru
Dear Patience,
It was with a very heavy heart that I learnt the news of your illness and your passing. There was no
opportunity to say goodbye. You will be sadly missed but never forgotten. You will always be in my
thoughts. I pray that God will comfort your husband, children and brothers and sisters and your wider
family and friends and give them the peace of God that passes all understanding.
God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth
give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though the waters roar and foam and the
mountains quake with their surging.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is
within her, she will not fall. God will help her at break of day. May the Almighty God be with your family, the
God of Jacob be their fortress. Amen.
With my love and prayers,
