Capture the Flag
Skills and fitness: Speed, teamwork and communication
Rules: You need two groups, one will have a flag while the
other team tries to steal their flag and reach their home base.
Equipment: flag
Space requirements: Gymnasium
Time needed: 25 minutes
Safety tips: Do not run into other players
Band Aid Tag
Skills and fitness: Running
Rules: 1-2 taggers, if students are tagged the player
must put their hand where they were tagged. When someone runs
out of band-aids, (they get tagged three times), they
are frozen until two other people come over to them
and “operate.” The two other people need to tag the
frozen person at the same time and count to five.
Equipment: none
Space requirements: Half/full gymnasium

Kickball
Skills and fitness: Teamwork, game plan/
strategies, communication and flexibility
Rules: Divide the class into two groups.
-one team is kicking
-the other team is on the field
The team kicking will get 3 outs,
and then the 2 teams will switch.
Equipment: bouncy ball and 4 bases
Space requirements: Gymnasium floor
Time needed: 1 hour
Safety tips: Do not throw the ball at each others face
Tug-of-war
Skills and fitness: Balance, teamwork and strategy
Rules: There should be two equal groups on
each side of the rope. The teams will pull on
the rope and whoever succeeds at
pulling the majority of the rope to one side wins.
Equipment: Rope
Space requirements: Half gymnasium
Time needed: 15 minutes
Safety tips: Make sure everyone is ready before starting
Blob Tag
Skills and fitness: Teamwork, cooperation, locomotor
and non-locomotor skills, and spatial awareness.
Rules: 1-2 students to be the blob. The rest of the
students will run trying not to be tagged by the blob.
Once you’re tagged you join the blob until
everyone is apart of the blob.
Equipment: None
Space requirements: half /full gymnasium
Time needed: 30 minutes
Safety tips: No tugging on arms
Drag the Body
Skills and fitness: cooperation and develops strength
Rules: Give each team a blanket.
Have one player from each team lie down on the blanket.
The teams must drag the body on the
blanket from one end of the gym to the other
side. Whoever crosses the finish line first, wins.
Equipment: Blanket
Space requirements: Half gymnasium
Time needed: 15 minutes
Safety tips: No horse playing
Hula Hoop Freeze Tag
Skills and fitness: Running
Rules: 1-3 taggers, they try to tag players. There will be several hula hoops around the floor. Students
can stand inside of them, for 10 seconds without getting tagged
Equipment: Hula hoops
Space requirements: Half/full gymnasium
Time needed: 20-25 minutes
Safety Tips: Do not run into each other
Dodgeball
Skills and fitness: Speed, awareness, accuracy and teamwork
Rules: Split the class into two teams, each team will begin throwing balls at each other. If your hit
then you’re out.
Equipment: squishy balls
Space requirements: Half gymnasium
Time needed: 25-30 minutes
Safety tips: Do not throw the ball at someone’s face
Limbo
Skills and fitness: Strength
Rules: Two players hold a soft rope or stick. Players take turns leaning backward and shuffling
under the rope. Lower the rope or stick after each round.
Equipment: Rope/stick and music
Space requirements: Half gymnasium
Time needed: 15-20 minutes
Safety tips: Don’t drop the rope/stick
Who has the Chicken?
Skills and fitness: Speed, teamwork and awareness
Rules: 2-4 taggers and 2 people with the chickens.
The taggers will run and freeze the others.
While the people who has the chickens can come
and unfreeze you. After a few minutes switch the taggers
and the chickens.
Equipment: rubber chickens

Stuck in the mud
Skills and fitness: Running
Rules: 1-2 taggers, if you are tagged you you must stand there with your legs apart. Until someone
crawls through and releases them.
Equipment: None
Space requirements: Half gymnasium
Time needed: 20 minutes
Safety tips: Do not hit each other
Spin and run
Skills and fitness: Focus, teamwork and coordination
Rules: Split the class into two teams. First, hold a baseball bat on the ground, looking at the top of
it. Keeping your eye on the top, spin in a circle 10 times.Now (try to) run to the finish line.
Equipment: Baseball bat
Space requirements: Half gymnasium
Time needed: 25 minutes
Safety tips: Do not run over anybody or throw the bat
