Covid-19 - Updates

KPGCC Workforce Gets Vaxed!

Covid-19 vaccination is crucial in reducing
one’s risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus
as it helps the body build the necessary
immunity to fight it.

Here at KPGCC, we too have done our
part in getting the staff vaccinated in line
with the Malaysian government’s vision of
achieving herd immunity with at least 80%
of the population fully vaccinated against
the virus.

The CIDB Vaccination Programme,
initiated by Gamuda Berhad, saw our
caddies and contract workers receiving their
first dose on July 26, 2021 at the CIDB
Convention Centre, followed by the second
dose on August 16.

At press time, all our staff, caddies,
contract workers and security guards have
completed their second dose and are fully
vaccinated.

club update

The Cigar Lounge: Near Completion!

To maintain KPGCC’s status as one of the leading golf and
recreational clubs in Malaysia as well as the region, key
renovation and enhancement works are often necessary – the
most recent project being the construction of the new Cigar
Lounge. Renovation works on The Cigar Lounge began in
early May, and opening has been scheduled for November
2021.

Located at Section C of the existing Golfers’ Lounge,
The Cigar Lounge comprises a lounge and bar seating area.
The upscale F&B lounge would be a fantastic venue for cigar
aficionados to wind down as regular and premium cigars will
both be available, along with a list of wines, by the glass and
bottle. An array of whiskeys and beers will also be on offer,
as well as gourmet coffee and a selection of western and
Japanese food.

course maintenance

Golf Course Maintenance Update

KPGCC’s award-winning golf course is a source
of immense pride and esteem for our beloved
club. In order to maintain its high-quality
condition, standard maintenance works need to
be carried out consistently, even during the
period of Movement Control Orders. This is
absolutely vital in ensuring the course remains
in immaculate condition at all times.

Works carried out on schedule include
green hollow tining, which is essential in
promoting better aeration of the soil, as well as
good drainage and water infiltration, which
ultimately keep the grass in tip-top shape.

How To Practice Putting

The short game is a crucial component of golf when it comes to previous sentence and ask yourself, are you constantly striving
scoring. Most amateur golfers don’t spend enough time practicing for perfection?
their short game, instead they prefer hitting balls at the range to
perfect their swing. In this article, I will share a few different drills to bring down
your score just by practicing putting the correct way. Some of us
Golf is not about playing perfect shots day in day out; it practice random putting without a goal and then wonder why your
is about hitting good bad shots. Have a think about that putts aren’t improving.

Make more putts inside 10 feet
The pic on the right is called the ‘clock drill’.
Place 3 balls from 3 feet, 6 feet and 9 feet in
all four clock positions – 12, 3, 6 and 9.
Perform 2 sets of 4 putts (ie 8 putts in total).
You must make all of them in order to move
to the 6 feet. Next, you must make 6 out of
8 putts before moving on to the 9 footers.
To complete the drill, you must make 4 out
of 8 putts at 9 feet. At first it might take you
30-60 minutes to complete the drill. As you
get better, you would be able to complete it
in about 15 minutes.

Have a pure putting stroke Avoid 3 putts
The above is called the ‘alignment sticks drill’. The goal Now, this is called the ‘gimme drill’. Draw a 2-feet circle before you start this
here is to keep your putter between alignment sticks at all drill. You will need 5 balls from 20 feet, 40 feet and 60 feet. This is how the
times. The gap between those 2 sticks will depend on your points system works: 2 points – in the hole, 1 point – inside the circle and 0

purely focused on your putting stroke. Put a 15-minute
timer before you putt; when the time is up you are done. How many points should you get in total? It depends on your handicap. I’d
say, as long as your points have improved today compared to a few weeks or
months ago, then you’re on the right track.

I hope the drills above will help you improve your putting. Feel free to
