Milestone Idea Card

‘I can recognise and order numbers 0-5’

You can write out numbers 0-5 on paper, cut them up
and mix up order. Ask your child to put them into the

correct order.
Play a “shut your eyes for a magic surprise” game and
when your child closes their eyes, take a number away

and they need to guess which one is missing?
(Alternatively, mix the number line up and see if they

notice it’s wrong).

There are also lots of songs you and your child can recite
together, to help them learn the order:-
 1,2,3 4 5, Once I caught a fish alive
 10 fat sausages sizzling in the pan
 5 little ducks went swimming one day
 Hickory dickory dock
 1,2 buckle my shoe
 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed
