Milestone Idea Card
‘I can use comparative language in terms of weight,
height and capacity such as
Tall, taller, heavy, heavier, full’.
A fun way to encourage the use of this language would
be in the bath or using the sink or a big box filled with
water.
Putting jugs, bowls, cups the child can play and begin to
understand weight and capacity – empty and full, heavy
and light.
With siblings at home and members of the family you can
discuss and measure who is the tallest, who is the
smallest.
In the garden with plants you can look at height.
Building blocks and Lego can also be used for comparison
language!
