Alfie is having fun exploring his new nursery environment he is settling in September 2021
well. I am so proud of him

Alfie especially enjoys outdoor learning and playing at the construction area
with the loose parts. He has a great imagination and is very creative.

to 3. He can recognise numbers to 5 and with

adult help is beginning to recognise other numbers

Pumpkin Alfie had a great time at the
Halloween Party. He enjoyed exploring

Learning to share with others Retell a familiar story using the pictures. Alfie
and take turns. placed Goldilocks and the Three Bears story
pictures into the correct sequence of events
with a little help. Well done Alfie.

Alfie had lots of fun at the woods. He
enjoyed exploring the outdoor area
and especially loved playing on the

tree swing. Then he had his snack and
some yummy hot chocolate.

Alfie has settled well into his nursery, he has
been busy learning the rules and routines and

exploring the resources available to him. He
particularly enjoys outside playing on the
bikes and using the loose parts at the

construction area, he has a great imagination
and is very creative. Alfie has really enjoyed
our Muddy Monday visit to the woods too. He
enjoys the star helper role and can carry out
his tasks confidently. Alfie sits well at group
time listening to our news and he enjoys
singing our songs. He has shown a great
understanding of phonological awareness
skills, especially his understanding of rhyme.
Alfie can recognise numbers to 5 and is
beginning to recognise other numbers too.
Well done Alfie you have worked hard this
term. ⭐

Alfie is a friendly and sociable little boys who
loves to share his learning experiences with
his peers. He has a great imagination and this

is often shown at the construction area
building marvellous structures. He has good
mathematical language and can use this in
the correct concept. Alfie enjoys learning the
number rhymes at group time and can happily

recite some of these. He can confidently
identify and use numerals to 10 as he plays.
He has a great understanding of phonological
awareness skills and understands rhyme and
alliteration. Well done Alfie you have worked
hard this term achieving your targets. What a

super star you are! ⭐

Elderbank Primary Family Gardening Group

The Family Learning worker teamed up with the Family Gardening group
at Elderbank Primary.

Al e, Oscar and Mum helped to plant bulbs, peas, onions, pumpkins and

April - June





Alfie has enjoyed learning about living and non
living things. He knows that living things grow and

change if looked after. He enjoyed planting a
sunflower seed and watching it grow and has
taken it home to look after. He has also enjoyed
helping to plant some vegetables with his Mum and

the Family Gardening group at school.
Alfie made a spin wheel showing the life cycle of a
frog and he enjoyed sharing this with all his friends

at group time.
Alfie loves all outdoor learning experiences and he
has especially enjoyed building with the loose parts
at the construction area. He likes to play with the
cardboard boxes and make dens with his friends.
Alfie also likes to take part in any art activity, he
is very creative and likes to paint pictures to take

home. Alfie was fantastic at copying a simple
pattern and he can continue this and create his

own pattern with great confidence.
Well done Alfie you have worked hard this term
achieving your targets. You are a superstar! ⭐

Having fun and learning at Elderbank Early Years.

Enjoy the next chapter of your learning journey into your
