story, song or rhyme.
Observation Monday 10th January
Ava enjoyed taking part in the actions for the nursery
rhyme row row row your boat. She sat and held an adults
hands and started the rowing action, she responded by
laughing at the singing verse “if you see a crocodile don’t
forget to scream.” Then Ava would start the rowing
action to show she wanted to take part again. Well done
Ava. ⭐
Ava enjoys looking at books, turning the pages independently to look at
the pictures. She was looking at the pizza and the children swimming.

Evaluation of Learning Plan
January - March
Ava is settling well into her nursery and she is
exploring the resources available to her. She
particularly enjoys water play, pouring water
from one container to another, mark making,
stacking and posting objects. She enjoys outside
playing and she especially enjoys the mud
kitchen. Ava is enjoying the opportunity to visit
the sensory room, soft play and the Cosy Cove
room. She looks through the lanyard visual
cards to make her request known, showing an
understanding of her daily routine to visit either
the sensory or Cosy Cove room. Ava is learning
to enjoy joint attention with an adult and will
take an adults hand to lead them to her chosen
activity and she especially enjoys the action
song “row your boat.” Ava recognises the
sequence of 123 leading out of activities such as
going down the slide or knocking towers down.

her turn. When an adult gently holds back the
item Ava gives lovely eye contact. Ava enjoys
matching and sticking the Velcro play food
together and then she likes to post it into the
bag.
She enjoys playing with the cash register
opening the drawer and placing buttons into it.
Ava is participating in a range of daily routines
such as lunchtime, outdoor play, cosy cove room,
home-time and her nappy change routine. She
copes well with transitions and is becoming
more familiar with her routines.
