An idea to encourage mark making that doesn’t
involve a pen and paper is to take it outdoors and

use sticks with dirt!

Help your child find sticks and then they can made
marks in the mud and soil!

This is popular on our Muddy Monday trips to the
woods with the children finding lots of ways to
leave their mark!

Outdoors it is also good to use water on the
paving.

Encouraging your children to make lots of marks
and watch them magically disappear!
